  1. BASS and FLW are freaking out right now. This new, expanded MLF tour that starts next season will (most likely) take away 80 pros from the Elite Series and FLW. It sounds like most of the 80 are Elite guys and a bunch of the FLW guys are not happy about it. Not a ton of info has been released but next season is going to be interesting.
  2. Treble hooks are attached via split rings for a couple of reasons but one of the main ones is so that you can change them out when they need to be changed. A lot of baits come stock with crappy hooks, I change them out before the bait ever gets tied on. Buy some Mustad, Gamakatsu or Owner trebles in the appropriate size and change them out.
  3. Lol, that's the great thing about 8 team leagues, I think we all got pretty good teams. Should be competitive.
  4. Congratulations to Josh Bertrand! 95 lbs 3 oz of smallmouth!
  5. Big fish is 6-12, big bag is 27-12....smallmouth!
  6. 50 at 20lbs with a few guys left to weigh in, insane.
  7. It's going to take 20 lbs plus to make the 50 cut.
  8. Basstrak is way light!
  9. Good grief, the weights are crazy!

  11. You guys are going to regret not playing this season. We need 3 more people, $25 to play. Let's go!
  12. Chesapeake Bay has been postponed. Rising water and debris are the culprit.
  13. I've been waiting all year to lose my $25 again! ?
  14. I was always under the impression that anglers could be subject to lie detector tests at times, not sure if this is true or under what circumstances it would be used. Remember Nate Wellman? He fished the Elite's for a few years and was busted for basically offering his co-angler money for one of his fish during an Open. I don't remember what his punishment was but I think he won the tournament and his co turned him in.
  15. This is a good move, tour level pro anglers shouldn't have to compete with someone fishing out of the back of their boat. I'm sure the pros are happy about this and it might even keep a few of the top guys from jumping to BASS first chance they get.
  16. Congratulations to Mark Daniels Jr! I had an ok week, Brent Ehrler salvaged my tournament with a top 12 finish. Next one is July 26th at Chesapeake Bay.
  17. I can't remember watching a weigh in and seeing more anglers with frustrated looks on their faces than today. Hopefully the wind will lay down some tomorrow.

  19. This is a tough one. I've made my pics but I don't feel very confident about them. ?
  20. I had the same reaction, I knew he made the top 12 but he wasn't on my radar to win. This next one will be a little harder to pick, I doubt anyone has fished this lake before, other than pre-practice.
  21. Congratulations Ish! On to Oahe starting this friday.
  22. Skeet Reese - 53 - 71 Todd Faircloth - 22 - 61 Randy Howell - 42 - 58 Keith Combs - 14 - 35 Jason Williamson - 103 - 102 ?
  23. Skeet Reese - 53 Todd Faircloth - 22 Randy Howell - 42 Keith Combs - 14 Jason Williamson - 103 I would be in good shape if Williamson could have just caught a limit.

  25. The key to upsizing treble hooks is to use a short shank model. This allows for a bigger, stronger hook to be used but keeps the hooks from tangling and doesn't effect how the bait runs. A lot of crankbaits come with subpar trebles so you kill two birds with one stone. You upgrade your hooks to quality sharp hooks while also making them bigger which, in theory, should help stick more fish.
