A little something for summertime carry
Anybody else like and carry wheelguns? Post up pics of your revolvers if you have them.

Fantasy Fishing
Congratulations Jacob Wheeler!! That dude is a stud. Really cool to see that the top 3 finishers are all new to the Elites this year. Paul Mueller climbed to 5th, he was my lone fantasy guy in the top 12. A week off and then on to Okeechobee.

Lol, be careful with the legends.

Fantasy Fishing
I only had 3 make the cut but my other 2 were in the top 61, so I think my score will improve. Not a great start but I didn't hurt my season too badly.

Fantasy Fishing
My day 1 put me in the middle of the pack. A lot can change though, especially with these weather conditions.

Calling out the diawa guys
The reels mentioned are all fantastic. Personally, I would opt for a reel with the T-Wing system for this particular setup. I feel like the T-Wing really shines in pitching/short cast applications. Starting from top to bottom depending on budget. Steez SV TWS > Zillion SV TW > Tatula CT. That's the route I would take.

StrikeKing Rage
I'm a big fan of the space monkey. It's great as a pitch/t-rig bait, jig trailer, swim jig trailer or even swam by itself like a toad style bait.

ID This Crank?
One of my favorite cold water baits. I like both versions.

New to casting, suggestions?
Don't psych yourself out. Like Bluebasser said, start with decent equipment, get the brakes set right, (which won't be hard with a frog) and let her rip. Concentrate on making a smooth motion and it will be easy.

I wonder if this thread should be pinned or moved to "tournament talk" so it doesn't get lost?

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
I carry everywhere I go, by land or by sea.

Megabass S-Crank 2.0
I've also used the 1.2 and 1.5 quite a bit, haven't used the 2.0 yet. I like them and have caught a lot of fish on them. I'm sure the 2.0 is a good bait too. I also have a few Grenades, which are oversized but designed similarly, I haven't thrown them yet though. I have no issue spending the money for imported and/or handmade baits. I will say this though, if you're going to fish an expensive bait differently than you would a cheap bait for fear of losing it, you probably shouldn't use them.

2015 Metanium vs 2016 Steez
The Steez SV TWS would be my choice. When you get up in that price range anything from Daiwa or Shimano will be awesome though.

Brand Loyalty?
I'm a St. Croix fan also. If I lived that close to their factory store and could handle all their rods and possibly buy blems at a lower price, that's probably all I would own too.

Brand Loyalty?
After much experimentation I now only buy and use Daiwa and Shimano reels. Everything else is a bit of a mixed bag.

Locking Wrap ?
This is very true, lol.

Locking Wrap ?
Same, I use single footed "micro" guides about 98% of the time. It's easy to do and effective, imo.

I don't think anyone is getting past ATL this year. They looked unstoppable today.

Even better.

My CT Type-R is here, but ...
If you're just looking for a color match, check out the Daiwa DX Type-H Glass, TW has them. It looks like a pretty close match to the CT R.

Single or double foot transition Guides?
Agree completely. I will sometimes use a double foot 6 for the stripper guide but it's purely for aesthetics.
