This is one of those personal preference things. I have all 3 varieties of cranking rods and use all 3 for different things. I am very much a fan of glass and composite rods but there are some baits/scenarios where I prefer graphite. The glass rods I've owned and fished are sensitive enough to distinguish between rock and mud and aren't as heavy as people make them out to be. For me, glass rods are just plain fun to fish. All that said, it's completely personal preference. You will have to spend some time fishing with both to really decide what you like.

I don't have a Calcutta or a Luna, (although I have fished them both,) but I do have a Conquest 200. The Conquest is an amazing reel, a step above the other 2. The other 2 are great reels that will last forever but the Conquest ups the ante on finish and smoothness. If you "just have to have one," I don't think you will be disappointed in the CQ. If you just need a rock solid fishing reel, either of the other 2 will be perfect for you. Check the JDM sites for deals on the Shimanos. I think the JDM CU has a removable side plate also.

One of the things I like about using the arm is you can set it up in front of you instead of behind you.

I use the YakAttak arm also. It works great. I would also highly recommend SI on your kayak. I have a 798si on mine and would hate to lose SI capabilities.

If you're going to spend that kind of money for leader material, why not get actual leader material? It will be tougher and last longer. I would also think it would be more sensitive.

Lots of great reels in that price range. You're going to have narrow it down a little. I only fish Shimano and Daiwa, so that's where I would be looking.

Take a look at the handles on the Extreme and Elite. That might make your decision for you.

Yep, they might have still lost that game but it would have definitely given them a shot to win it. Next week at Pittsburgh will be a tough one but it's hard to find too much to really complain about with this team. The Raiders are fun to watch, I'm pulling for them. What is up with Mark Davis' hair though? It's like a bad home haircut you would give a 3 year old.

I do like them in cold shallow water. They actually deflect pretty well and don't hang much worse than a regular sq bill.

Lucky Craft makes really good baits. All of those you listed are good. I'm a big fan of the KJ Flats and all the RTO baits are great.

The TX Tackle pliers are the real deal and have the best design. I had a set of BPS pliers that were awful, I threw them in the trash after getting the TT pliers. The regular size with the orange grips are pretty small, they work on everything I've used them on.

I've worn Oakley since high school, I've probably had 7 or 8 different pairs of polarized Oakley sunglasses. I got a pair of Costa 580G Tuna Alleys in blue mirror last week. I was immediately blown away by the clarity. They fit my head really well so I guess the weight is distributed evenly, I haven't had any problems with them feeling heavy. I really, really like them. They do fog up like crazy though.

I try to fill mine up pretty full but I can tell you from experience, overfilling is no fun.

I haven't used a 70 yet but I like the I series better than the E series in the 200 size.

Anybody heard from @iabass8? He's been real quiet and I'm starting to get worried about him. I got lucky and caught you on an off week. It's good to go ahead and get that first L anyway, you don't want it to become a distraction for your team. I'm sure you will get me back next time.
