  1. Your builder does really clean work. You guys came up with a really great design, beautiful build.
  2. Lol, really? You might want to think about that.
  3. ...and you know what I told him? I said...
  4. I like Jason Christie a lot but I hope Edwin wins it.
  5. Christie has said all along that the wind would hurt his pattern. He's also caught the majority of his weight in the afternoon. He's going to have a tough decision to make here pretty soon.
  6. Yeah, I kind of feel bad for Christie. Hopefully it won't spin him out.
  7. Edwin is having a Randy Howell morning.
  8. I generally like crankbaits with a tight action when it's cold. I fish a lot of flat sided baits, both plastic and balsa. As the water warms I fish a lot of sq bills, balsa and plastic.
  9. Tough day, a few guys caught them well but most didn't get a limit. It will be interesting to see how tomorrow plays out.
  10. Something a little different. Megabass Orochi 13 Snake Slider balsa bait.
  11. I don't think they have any righties in the Type R yet, Daiwa sometimes releases lefts and rights at different times. It's nice that they kept the 90mm handle on this version. I like the Tatula handles and knobs. Hopefully they won't do purple accents on the high speed version but that seems to be the color they use on the XS reels. I will probably get a Type R if you can get them for the same prices as the original Tatulas.
  12. I was looking at that one the other day. Grande Bass makes great baits.
  13. fishing-goods-japan is who I ordered from.
  14. I also use the Werner Shuna Hooked, awesome paddle.
  15. I've got an order inbound from that same seller. Z-Cranks were my target on this order, can't beat 40% off on new baits.
  16. No problem, I am personally a fan of certain round reels. I just thought a LP might be easier for the OP to get started with, that's all.
  17. Monster is great, I place several orders with them every year.
  18. I never said that it did. However, not all round reels are suitable for bass fishing and OP clearly doesn't know the difference.
  19. RW is right. It sounds like your reel might be bad or possibly not a good choice for bass fishing. Loosen up your brakes and cast control, if you still don't get any distance, send it in for service or consider a LP model.
  20. I've never had a problem using micro guides for frogging. I would rather get that gunk stuck in the tip than possibly reeling into my reel. I don't fish around a ton of cottonwood but it's never been a problem for me.
  21. Turn the brakes and spool tension up to where you can cast without backlashing. Your distance will suffer but you will get used to casting. Once you get that down, slowly start backing things up until you get the distance you want. Practice, a lot.
  22. It's been that way in TX forever. I show my CHL, fill out some paperwork and off I go.
