I would get the regular Tatula in 5.4:1 for $95 and be done with it. Not sure why you would need the HD. You could also get the Tatula CT if a high capacity reel isn't a requirement.

The Jackall Iobee is my favorite frog for sparse cover. Ish's Phat Frog is the other one I really like to use.

Chartreuse shows up well in off color water. It's really as simple as that, 99% of the time. It might not hurt that chart is a natural color that bass are used to seeing but I don't think they associate the color with anything.

I wasn't a big fan of any of the previous Antares/Calais, cosmetically speaking, but this one is sweet!!

Spinning gear isn't absolutely necessary but it can make things a lot easier. It just depends on how you like to fish and what techniques you mostly use.

Dude, "what you said" was really dumb, dangerous and just flat out bad advice.

The XT is built on a different blank material, same as the old Lexa rods, I believe. I imagine the actions are similar between the two lines. On paper, the Tatula rods should be more sensitive than the XT. Also, the reel seats are quite different between the two. I have a Tatula rod that I like very much. At the price they can be had for, it's a no brainer to me.

I use the Black Pak as well.

Use hook bonnets or rubberbands if you're worried about it.
