  1. Honestly, I am not talking about the occasional typo. I realize that (from your post) time is money to some people. That may be true. Think about this....If "time" is so fleeting and limited in someone's life, shouldnt that time be designated to a more important activity? I laugh when I hear school age people on here say, "I only use this language when I am on a forum." BULL!!! Look at Russ' post; ask his sister (a teacher). When poor grammar is so widely used and commonly accepted by a majority of people, its inevitable that it will become the "norm." I refuse to accept that.... Wayne, very well put and yet another point of view Speed maybe that in itself is a topic of debate. Food for thought ...I feel as though I can turn it off or on as needed but maybe today's youngsters cannot????? re: "shouldnt that time be designated to a more important activity?" maybe this is expert time management on their part? that is how they fit the activity in? just being objective for me this site is about sharing ideas and having some fun. it is not imperative to me to be grammaticaly correct. I don't take it that serious its not that important to me. That's just me to each his own as they say Very classy / great reply back to me I've seen enough of your posts to have expected that FFI- AKA Matt Crum
  2. for Bassboy confusing posts Like RW said needs to play nice
  3. actualy drives a 10' Lowe jon boat too slow meant for nitro
  4. Hey Speed he does have a point ( see my long drawn out post ) to each his own FFI AKA Matt Crum
  5. talks too much!! too slow meant for the boy 1st time I checked this thread it is hilarious for a post doomed to nowhere it has legs It even got keri yapping early on, I've never seen her post
  6. Aaron, Do you have cable just not HD? or no cable at all? just curious
  7. Mike, I think it can be more complicated than that. Just because I or someone else makes mistakes I don't perceive it as a big deal. That being said though if someone writes terrible then it is very cumbersome to read. I imagine some look at it as "time is money" or "time is too precious to waste". These could be perceived as "lazy" when in fact a value choice. Sometimes I have better things to do than take the time to expertly proof-read a post on a fishing related website or a "just for the heck of" it e-mail. I don't perceive this site as writing the constitution for instance. I taylor my thouroughness to the importance of the medium / occasion. Life is all about different strokes for different folks. If we were all created equal we'd all be cloned and all be rocket scientists. No offense meant you have a very valid point and thought provoking (sp?) question in general. Just my .02 right or wrong FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  8. What's the over and under on this?
  9. Hey Zel One more shot, When I told a co-worker about the ctrl + he said the same function is available at the bottom of the IE window. As long as you have the status bar at the bottomof th eIE window ( add via tools / toolbars) on my setup it has a magnafying glass and a % sign with a drop down box You can just select a different size % and do the same as ctrl + ???? Let us know if it works
  10. Hey thanks everyone some great info Burley good catch on the I vs P I was totaly ignoring that OK some conclusions waste of money not without HD package as it is just time to replace a tv. Tubes for all intents and purposes no longer exist. LCD & Plasma's both have better regular picture than a Tube I believe so their is some value there. I'm not going to buy high end as that is not where I'mat right now. I'm not going to buy a cable tv HD package as those a-holes get way too much of my money as is I will go with a dual input of some sort and if not included with my cable package I will use an HD antenna to get local stations in HD I assume in 2009 all will be free anyway as HD required? My brother and sister in-law do the antenna deal out in the remote sticks. Due to the nature of digital they get crystal clear ( and I mean beautiful digital reception ). I might or might not with being in the city, we'll have to see. I might add that their analog reception via antenna was previously worthless LBH might have the fishing frugality market tittle but he's got nothing on FFI for the over all frugality title At the risk of getting on my soapbox America gets in way over their heads financialy on everything from cars to, cell phones to electronics etc ets thus all of the credit card debt etc. I'm no saint in this regard either. This would have to be a whole thread of its own. Sorry for the ramble
  11. Check I maybe drive 50ft sometimes but always put it on. Amazing how well my kids including the older ones do as well. Am also amazed at the number of people who get caught w/o them on or are dead as a result. If I forget the 9yr olds are panicky. Gotta give Il credit for passing the law many years ago. Thanks for checking with UPS Russ
  12. man that's a good one then again you are from New York what do you know about driving? LOL
  13. Hey Russ, I've seen you mention on occasion UPS driving tips and training Any chance you'd regularly say every 2 weeks share a tip / training deal or is it confidential? Is it even practical if legal? just a thought Might help any of us maybe the youngsters could save their butt once or twice FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  14. straight windows here ctrl & +worked for me Hey Zel make sure you also make your window full screen that might help. Also Zel are you holding the ctrl and simultaneously pressing the + key right ??? FFI =- AKA Matt Crum
  15. Will be looking for my first HDTV and need to know what is good to have and what I don't need. I have quite a few cable channels but won't be having an HDTV package. I've heard that 720p is fine and that 1080pixels is overkill What do I need LCD, DLP? How many inputs? It will be going into a basement that is half above ground so has wall with sunlight. Average room probably going with min46" Thanks in advance.
  16. Nope...Fifteen wasted dollars for pure crap. If you're just fishing for pan fish, I guesss it doesn't make any difference. If you were fishing for a bass worth talking about, it might. : I'm inclined to think your way RW but based on the one I've fished with..... so far so good.It is smooth and shows every sign of being a Pflueger Medalist. Time will tell of course. I'm not going at it blindly
  17. Not a problem at this house she always has a headache Was that the question???
  18. I think I've paid my dues and have done my homework. If they turn out to be a hassle then yep going the quality route. But the ones I'm talking about I believe are quality. The GST I believe is a Pflueger Medalist and I own a Medalist. I also own a Shimano Citica bc. I've never had a problem with my Pfluegers or my GST in 3 yeas. I've done my homework as it relates to my taste / style. I'm not going to use a reel that I throw away every trip.
  19. I might be switching to Gander Mtn Pflueger Medalist knockoffs I just have not seen the return on high end gear. I can buy these on E-bay for $15. If it breaks I throw it away. If not what I think they are they make for a heck of a crappie reel. I cannot say that I own super high end to start with. I own a Symmetre and, a President and a Medalist. Gander is also in my backyard when I'm not buying via E-bay I have noticed very little help on the high end rods either.
  20. Hey Irish your Avatar rocks Go Cubs Go! I'm about 1hr + 40mins away from Decatur. I wish I could reciprocate the hospitality and fish with a BassResource.com member but can't quite swing it. I tend to take on a few too many things and get in overloaded mode. I really appreciate the offer. That being said as you offered hot spots I assume you are orig from this area? No big deal just curious what lake you had experience on. Thanks again for the offer, maybe another time
  21. Stay with me on this one, Take twin 9yr old girls to big Chinese buffet as they like the fish pond with Koy or goldfish whatever ( not my doing just kids wink). The pond is maybe 60ft long over all 3ft wide on 50ft of it and a small bridge that the fish can swim to the 10ft side with lilly pads, grass and cover ( oh god). Probably 200 fish in this pond total. Only 10 fish in the 50ft wide open space. 190 ft of fish in the 15ft! I'm thinking hey a pattern? LOL Even though gold fish I assume a fish is a fish right! Took pattern to my lake today no pads or grass I got spanked! I suck at fishing but I love it
  22. been a rough couple of days here man what a gift when coming back Geeeez, Glenn, Muddy LBH and whomever you guys deserve Nobel peace prizes to pull this off!!! Welcome back Muddy my friend. FFI AKA Matt Crum
  23. Hey Josh don't forget the reason to sell and buy a truck was because of someone wrecking your fiance. She was unhurt. Not to mention the insurance / lawyer questions from a while back. Welcome back my friend. Someday soon I'll send you a pm or 2. Some good things happening on my end. Somestatus quo bad too but overall some positives.
