  1. I'm not a Yo Zuri expert ( RW seems the most knowl'able). Their is Yo-zuri Hybrid and Yozuri Ultra soft hybrid. I believe the ultra soft is softer. In either case the Yozuri's breaking strength is much higher than the lb test listed. Don't quote me on this but I think the Ultra soft is more suited for spinning and the hybrid works for BC's I believe the cutoff point for most has been 12lb test on the Hybrid and 6-8lb test on the Ultra. I have read ( maybe do a search ) that several people mentioned using line conditioner. I don't need it for the Ultra on my spinning gear. The line works just fine Like I said I'm not an expert just my .o2c FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  2. You might take a look at this thread going on right now. The reel they are talking about is on sale and I think about in yout price range http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1211309343/all RW had posted that it was on sale as of the 20th but it doesn't appear to be now? Here's the link to the reel http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_90338_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1
  3. Great news Big T keep commin with the good news Enjoy your success you deserve it!
  4. From the looks of it you can also put it in a big ziplock bag, duct tape a rope to it and use it for an anchor! Multi use phone you gotta love it! LOL FFI- AKA Matt Crum
  5. Does anyone think this will happen? Seems to be getting harder and harder to get. Aboot the only place left I've seen is Cabelas. I just bought 2 600 yd spools of #6 just to be safe. This stuff is very affordable in my mind.
  6. Like someone said different strokes for different folks. To me fishing is strictly for fun. Having to baby my equipment or retie all the time would take the fun out of it ( to a degree). Plus I bank fish a lot so the issue of tying can be more of a pain amongst the weeds and trees. I just don't take it that serious. I could see people who are really into it as almost a precision art form if you will or for tny people with money on the line. For me I just want to show up enjoy nature and not worry too much about missing a fish here or there. I am working on backing my drags off more often just to take better care of my equipment. If I was fishing $200 Curado's or Chronarch's then I could see the extra effort.
  7. Hey Perfect what did you end up with and how do you like it so far?
  8. My wife and I thought these were hilarious such creativity
  9. I'd like to do it more but then the line is always coming loose from the hook kepper. Or the line is getting wrapped around other stuff. In the price range that I buy reels in (max $100 list $50 cost ) I think I'll just use them and leave the drag and call it close enough.
  10. I took the youngest 2 on a bike ride. We strolled into where their next oldest sister works at a tanning salon. I don't know that I've ever been in a tanning place before. The "SCENERY" From what I observed in a very short period of time was interesting to say the least. My advice to you youngsters is that a tanning place would be a really really good job for 16-21yr old male!. They pay decent and it's not a tough job. You should work your tail off to get a job at one of these places! (smiling) PS ...FFI Generals warning: Don't tan though it can kill you!
  11. I heard these rods have a built in speaker. When you reel in it plays Unos and Terminator infomercials. No disrespect intended sorry Roland. I guess this means I won't be on Roland's christmas list!
  12. There goes that plan: I was just getting ready to post a picture of my mug. Scratch that idea! LOL
  13. I don't *** you Robert that was a tough situation. You might want to make sure he stays vERY current on any fees. Once he gets caught they might be much harder to collect!
  14. RE: Rick Ankiel can anyone say Steroids??? On the serious side with all he has been through with the pitching thing it is good to see him make a nice comeback. This is coming from a Cubs fan no less so it is painful for me! LOL I still say growing up and umpire for 20 years often your best athletes were your best hitters and pitchers as well. I've often wondered if a Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle wasn't hidden away in the form of a pitcher???
  15. I think you were pretty much right on. I think the carrying her deal insured that she would get the one and only homerun of her life. With the knee injury I think the carrying is even more important as the homerun is how she ends her softball carreer! What a story. Goes to show you the younger genertion gets short changed in the reputation department.
  16. A lot of people hate to see Muddy go but I understand the dilema that the mods probably had. We did lose the PFLueger Posse sherrif & the King of Mooks all in one shot though
  17. Nice to see a diverse opinion I own a symmetre and a President. They are both good reels. For some reason I prefer the President a little maybe the Bling factor.
  18. Here's the link to the story I'll keep an eye out for youtube as well http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/24392612/ FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  19. I believe Muddy as many people do above the 45yr old water line struggles a little with vision issues. Muddy would probably be the first to tell you that computer technology is also not his strongest suit at times.
  20. Ronnie, I'll have Mr Weinstein call you. He took one look at those pictures and said we should be able to collect pretty substantial sums! LOL
  21. Sorry Tele I must have thrown you off. She doesn't have any type of cancer. The main problem is they don't know for sure what she does have. The doc's have different opinions on what she has. Her symptoms are unexplained constant throwing up, food, medicine even water! The local specialist says she has Gastropharesis (sp?) also referred to sometimes as delayed stomach emptying. The nerve doesn't work properly that needs to cause food to empty from the stomach. This causes a tremendous amount of stomach pain due to the acids just sitting there. The Chicago doc says she has just an overeactive link between her brain and her stomach. The Chicago doc says they only see Gastropharesis in people who are diabetic ( which she is not ). He is adamit (sp?) that she does not have Gastorph... I tend to lean toward this doc's thinking but it is just tough to put all of our eggs in any one basket. Either way neither one has a concrete cure for what she does or does not have. They give her an IV to stay hydrated. The only thing that seems to help is Eurythromiacin and only via IV ( due to throwing up). Euryth is an antibiotic but its side effect is to cause your stomach muscles to contract and force food out. Back to the drawing board I guess. You have a great point in the game face deal though. I've tried that approach with her. My best wishes to you and yours with your situation Tele
  22. I didn't make any bet. After me looking at those pictures I figure you owe me for pain and suffering.! Let me introduce you to my lawyer Mr Weinstein! LOL JK FFI - Matt Crum
  23. Boy you can really feel the difference on how structure feels with this rod. Unfortunately I don't know how a fish feels on it yet! LOL Once I feel a fish I think the baitmonkey could be big trouble for me! About right time now but just a hair early for the good stuff. My home lake doesn't even open till 4/28
  24. Right on Hawg. Right there with ya on the leftovers. AAlmost always enough for luncjes 4 days per week. I think the Walmart wierdo salesman practicaly knows me by name. When we out its 4 of us ( sometimes 5 ) for $20 or it doesn't happen. We can have Taco Bell and have $7 or $8 leftover. Not the healthiest though. Change my own oil sometimes but getting harder despite the law to find a place to take the oil. Change my own air filter and maybe plugs. Coupons for the grocery store. I'll drink water at a resteurant. Six of us did that at the Cheesecake factory once and it saved us $25 just in drinks!
  25. In that price range stick with Shimano and go with a Citica. If you hurry I think ( don't quote me ) that they are about $80 with the sale and rebate. Fine quality and at a nice price.
