OKUMA!! QUALITY OR CRAP?
I read not long ago within a few weeks I think. I believe it was one of the guys who fishes for big bass ( fish chris?). I think he uses Okuma's exclusively and if he is using them they must be decent. It doesn't sound like he leaves much to chance.

Boyd Coddingtons death.
You know I hate to say it about a dead guy and I wish his family well but Boyd Coddington was a cocky arogant jerk in my book. He was an automtive legend but I hated to watch his show other than for the cars. I eventualy quit watching after only a few shows. Ok I feel better.

Best Baseball Movie
I wonder why so many people can only like a movie that is funny? Ok "Pride of the Yankees" That scene with Gary cooper doing the retirement speech is one of the most famous scenes of any movie That scene is history all by itself The original Babe Ruth movie - The scene with the kid in the hospital listening to the radio is priceless. Field of dreams had a fantastic concept with all of the historical ( even if fiction ) tie ins "61*" was a darn good movie major league and the similar ones had their place Rookie of the year was cute Angels in the outfield was cute and my kids loved it league of their own was well done and a clever idea while also being a history lesson

Incredible college records
Hey Popeye thanks for offering the of thread apology but it isn't needed. This one is pretty simple I must have not heard the TV info right. Once an answer is given I for one enjoy the off or side topic stuff. Sometimes that stuff is the most entertaining. Sure wish I could have watched closer to what they were saying. No big deal, 88-0 is pretty impressive anyway. I think those days are gone as those were the pre-parity days. Depending on the sport you had UCLA, USC, Notre Dame, Indiana, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska then the "others". As far as pro salaries they will be this high until we do something about it. We have to quit going, quit buying the special cable packages etc etc. Not going to happen I know but unless someone draws the line no one will. I still say its time to quit the illusion of " pro athlete". Make it one or the other they choose to be paid or they take the schooling. No offense meant but why waste the instructor time on something that is a joke to start with. Many of the degrees are worthless programs anyway and many haven't quite made it all the way through before their playing days are over.

3rd grade test
Ok funny stuff all around Long Mike boast you may Problem# 1 I thought 3 yardfs made the only sense but I thought 9ft seems like a huge chalkboard. Not in relation to a large room though Problem #2 was obvious but I though 2 cups doesn't seem like much of anything. In the smallest pot though I guess so. With 5 kids we don't often get a small pot of anykind out! Problem#3 I thought water boiled at around 200deg F so I thought you can't drink boiling water 50 deg C was around 122 deg F and I figured maybe that was a fairly hot drink? I always tend to overthink things! LOL

Antique Book price
Thanks Vic, LOL I see what you mean for instance the Ox team driver... I wasn't exactly clear. In too big of a hurry I guess. For the record it had whatever the name was then "Ox team driver" after that then dated. I see your point on the regional. For reference it looks like a book for lessons and every year that a new person was issued the book that it was signed and dated. One or 2 pages all orderly signed, dated chronilogicaly. That's my guess on why anyway. Many people also signed the book in various places many with a date as well. Sorry for the confusion! Thanks for the input. Maybe someday i will hunt down the antiques roadshow

3rd grade test
I thought this might be funny. Below are a few questions from our daughters 3rd grade homework Do me a favor and don't answer them in the thread just answer 3 out of 4 or got em all or got em all but had to think. No Googleing w/o trying first. The 3000ml to L one I kind of new but mainly because in college you convert Mil amps to amps a bazillion times in a 2-3 year period. I still had to double check myself. Problem #1 What is the best estimate for a large chalkboard? A) 3 mi'd 3ft c) 3yds D) 3in Problem #2What is the best estimate for the capacity of a small cooking pot? A) 2 gal 2L C) 2C D) 2 ML Problem #3 What is a reasonable temperature for a steaming hot cup of chocolate? A) 200 deg F 50 deg F C) 200 deg C D) 50 deg C Problem # 4 3,000 ml = ? L F) 500 H) 30 G) 300 J) 3 These are not that bad but getting around 50 and being rusty it was an adventure!

Antique Book price
I was just trying to find someone who might have a background in book value. Ok I cracked open the safe and I looked at the book and it is tittled "Ancient History" author is Meyers The copyright date is 1904. The book is in pretty decent shape considering over 100yrs old. The pages inside are incredible. The only bad thing is the binding is duct taped on the end. Re sig's: there are a bunch including the one for the ox team driver People kind of randomly signed the book here and there. Many of those are dated as well. Maybe this was the checkout method in the old days? There is also a page somewhere of sig's but it is hard to find. If no value I was going to see if the Smitsonian, or Chi nat history museum or a museuo in Oregon might be interested in me loaning for display.

Antique Book price
re-read my original post it is signed by a bunch of people. Apparently the oregon trail wasn't an overnight deal. Maybe it took years or maybe some co that excorted wagon trains along it thus all the sigs over the years.

Antique Book price
I've got a book under lock and key in a special safe. The book appears to be a general history book used for school to teach lessons. The twist to this book is it is signed by "ox team driver while traveling by wagon train on the Oregon trail". It is dated and appears to be signed and dated for ea person that was issued the book over the years. I think the dates start at 1902 and go through 1911(??). Its been a while since I've had it out so don't quote me on the dates. Assuming this book to be genuine does anyone have any idea what it would be worth? Even if low value it makes for a heck of a neat piece. I got it from my grandfather I'm not sure where he came up with it.

Incredible college records
I wasn't watching real close they were just talking about undefeated teams in general. San Fransisco, Indiana etc. They showed a picture of Walton and 120 - 0 I'm not exactly sure what it referred to.
-
Incredible college records
During the Memphis / Tenn game they were talking about undefeated seasons. I think they said that during Bill Walton's days UCLA was 120 -0 ???? If that is the case doesn't that have to be the single greatest record of any sport ever? Seldom happens anymore but no matter how you look at it 4 in a row is a heck of a feat.
