Berkley's Secret Classic Bait
if it was just a 5" chigger craw then why the secret? plus that wouldn't be something new in the water it would just be a larger size of something already in the water

Tru-Tungsten going under
What's up at Tru-Tungsten? 1/11/2011 Several months ago, it became clear that Tru-Tungsten and sister companies Mihatchii and Picasso all of which fall under the purview of the Fish Harder Co. were in trouble. The rumblings started in media sales offices and among pro anglers. Outstanding debt mounted and several parties, including tour pros, filed suit against Fish Harder. Fish Harder closed its corporate offices and according to sources close to the company, leaders are now operating out of their homes until a sale of the companies can be completed. Word is the Picasso brand will not be part of the sale, and that a sale could be completed within a month. Who's a potential buyer? No word yet, although if recent history can offer a suggestion, Rapala, Pure Fishing and Pradco Fishing would have certainly at least sniffed around. As well, Strike King was rumored to have taken a look.

KDM Shakespeare Rods
I haven't fished them yet seeing I just got them but they seem to be decent. I've fished a lot of Shakespeare as a kid and the quality is higher than anything in the states. the reason for the difference is the marketing teams design there own domestic product. they pick and choose different items from across the world choose the stuff they feel will work and design new product they feel will sell better. I personally feel the reason we don't see hot looking rods out of the states is because the marketing staff is old and out of date in a lot of the big box makers they are afraid to make a change. Things are changing though like what Abu Garcia is doing and other new brands that pop up all the time I would bet that this rod would out sell any rod Shakespeare US currently has out on the market 10 to 1 if in a head to head contest and priced the same. this rod cost about 47 dollars but tackle is double here what it is in the states.

Need Close water in korea
Pyeong Taek Lake it's maybe 20 to 30 minutes from there and you can take a bus or a cab the river system that feeds it is also really good and runs right behind osan ab so you can take the mwr bus to osan and walk out the gate and walk to the river in less than 20 min. the north side of Pyeong Taek lake is very accessible and is pretty good fishing too but the fish of good size are lacking some. If you want to go to a lake with really good bass fishing that is with in an hour from there your best bet is Shingal Reservoir in Yongin City

Dobyns 705cb glass vs 705cbmf glass
I have all 3 rods and I was using the 704 cb glass for jerk baits and cranks down to six feet the 705cb glass for 6-12 foot cranks and vibes and the 705cbmf for 12+ baits (i cant carry 7'6" rods since I have no boat yet and they don't fit in my car well) and he was telling me to switch the 705cb and the 705cbmf around and i couldn't understand why. :-[

Dobyns 705cb glass vs 705cbmf glass
see thats what i thought too but a pro friend of mine was telling me the opposite and I was like that doesn't make sense... maybe it was my sub par Korean that was confusing us.

Combination shakyhead/dropshot rod question
DS = 6'9" ML/ MF: reason 1 no reason to cast a DS a country mile. 2 the MF action helps play big fish on light line no need for fast actions because the hook is exposed.(unless you t-rig your DS). SH = 7' M/F: you need a faster tip to pull the hook through the plastic when sweep setting so you don't have to jerk like a jerk when setting the hook with light line. the longer rod also helps with this. hey Seanw what company makes tourny grade rods with these exact specs where you could buy two rods for less than 200$ I think it starts with an A and ends with an a. and the rod starts with a V and ends with a s

Dobyns 705cb glass vs 705cbmf glass
what is the point of having 2 rods rated the same except for a slight dif in action? what would be the reason for buying one of each? is there a certain type of crank that the MF would be better for over the F? Maybe Dave could chime in and help me understand why Gary designed this rod that way. if it just a matter of pref then why is there no 704cbmf glass stick?... help

WOW
To talk about PF on a global scale is really talking about development from three areas. North America, Japan and Australia. While each market is allowed to create and develop product that fits the needs of anglers in their markets the three big dogs are what I listed earlier. Japan develops 99% new product specific to their market with a very very few soft bait choices as the exception. The US is catching up to Japan with the latest developments in the ABU line (wish all star would put out something new or maybe they will just disappear like the Fenwick Bass rods did.... or maybe pflueger could absorb them and put out a tournament class rod line under it's name ((since they were both under Shakespeare at one point )) ) any way the Revo Neos is the JDM Version of the Premier spinning reel it has 2 more bearings but otherwise the same. But really there are only 4 Large Bass market focused countries and those are US, Japan, Korea, and China... but Australia has some real sweet gear for inshore if people are into that................

Crankbait reel.
A 6.*:1 ratio reel is fine for even the most resistive cranks if you chnge to a large handle.... (IE the handle that used to come on the SR Revo.)

carbonlite vs smoke
Not This still does not deny the fact that the two reels in question are not made by the same manufacturer. By the way the information I am getting is coming from a Bass Pro Manager and friend. Your friend is mistaken. are Pure fishing and BPS reels made by the same OEM? Yes. Does pure fishing make or design the reels? No. ALL BPS Reels from the Extreme up are made in Korea by Doyo Engineering as well as the Revo and Pflueger baitcasting reels. Main Gear parts for the Revo Series are imported from Europe and Barrings from Japan then other parts like drag, spool and body parts are in house and assembled by DOYO . All the BPS stuff is in house at DOYO. This is coming first hand from one of the Technical Advisers for DOYO who is a personal friend of mine here in Korea

Which one? Dobyns DX703C or DX743C SH

Which one? Dobyns DX703C or DX743C SH
What are you going to be using it for? I have the DX 703c and its my go-to trig and jig rod. for these applications I personally don't need the 3 extra inches due to the loss of accuracy in casting I have a 735c Champion i use for pitching and frogs and a 736c Champion for flipping and punching. (due to transportability of rods in Korea, IE friends cars and such, I'm limited to 7'3" rods.) Here is my dobyns line up and what I use them for and it's been great for me Champion 704CB Glass light-medium cranks Champion 705CB Glass Deep Cranks Champion 704CB Jerkbaits Champion 705CB Lipless Cranks Champion 735C Frogs and Pitching Champion 736C Flipping and Punching Champion Extreme 703C T-Rigs and Jigs on the to get list. Champion 701SF & 702SF Drop and Shake Champion 684CB & 685CB Topwaters This is just me though. How you want to use the rod and how you fish will dictate the length you need I find my accuracy when skipping becomes a problem when I use longer than 7' so getting under floating docks becomes more difficult for me when using long rods. But again that's just me.

7' vs. 6'6" Bucoo
The falcon 7'MH is MH but it has a moderate Taper made for lipless cranks it should not be used for jigs you will need to buy the 7"H for jigs or buy both like I did love them and the 7 MH makes a great medium crank rod
