Does anyone know when the next Tacklewarehouse sale is?
Sorry, I don't mean to steal this thread. If anyone else has any info on when the next TW sale will be I would love to hear about it as well.

Does anyone know when the next Tacklewarehouse sale is?
That's terrible news. I was hoping to place a huge order as well, including a Dobyn's DX744 that I planned to use mostly for jig fishing early this spring. Looks like I may have to pay retail for the rod and just wait until Memorial weekend to place my big order of baits. -nick- Have you recieved your DX744 yet? If so what are your impressions? I was planning on pairing it with a Zillion 50th for jigs and c-rigs.

Shimano Saros?
Agreed. That's what I paid for mine and I think it is an excellent spinning reel. Best performance/cost ratio in the Shimano lineup IMO.

First impressions on my new Dobyns Extreme
uicdent, I'm planning on picking up a DX744c to pair with my zillion 50th this spring (trying to hold off for a TW sale). I am very interested in your impressions, especially when you get it out on the water. Anyone else's experience with this rod would be appreciated as well.

Deals in the stores coming up?
How about TW? I'm trying to hold off placing a large order.

Tracker PT 175 TXW vs Lowe ST170
Thanks for the help guys. Your responses have got me looking closer at Lowe boats than I would have.

Zillion 6.3:1 vs STX 6.4:1
That's the new STX with dual breaking.

Zillion 6.3:1 vs STX 6.4:1
Which of these reels would you pair with a 6'6" heavy fast action rod for throwing large blades in the 1/2 - 1 oz range and why? Any better suggestions in a similar price range?

Revo SX
Aside from the swept handle and drag star, is this reel upgraded at all from the older model?
-
Revo SX
Anyone know when the new Revo SX is supposed to be available? That is one sweet looking reel and I bet it would look even sweeter on one of the new Dobyns Savvy rods.

Tracker PT 175 TXW vs Lowe ST170
Looking into buying my first bass boat in the next year or so and just starting to do some research. I was wondering what makes one of these boats better or a better buy than the other. The specs appear to be nearly identical and the prices seem to be comparable. Is this another one of those brand loyalty things like Shimano vs. Daiwa, or are there legitimate features that would make you pick one over the other. Also, any other advice for a first time buyer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

KVD line & lure
Anyone else use the cloth method? I was considering this but did not know if it wasn't necessary.

KVD line & lure
How do you guys use KVD Line & Lure when spooling up for the first time? How about after that when fishing?

Looking for a spinning and baitcasting reel for around $100
The Shimano Saros F is an excellent spinning reel, incredibly smooth and solid. It can be had for ~$100 NIB on Ebay. I also have the current model Sahara, and while an excellent budget reel, I don't think it compares to the Saros. The Sahara is not nearly as smooth and does not feel as connected as the Saros (the Saros has the direct drive handle while the Sahara does not). I say spend the extra ~$30 and go for the Saros.

Daiwa Sol Handle
Thanks Raul. I had a feeling it would be around 80 mm. Just hoping it would be a little longer.

P-line CXX for jerkbaits/spinnerbaits
"Looking for high abrasion resistance, but still high strength" That's exactly what you will get with CXX. It's somewhat of a trade off though as it can retain memory, worse in larger sizes, but you should be ok as long as you are using casting gear. I use 8lb CXX for 1/4 - 1/2 oz spinnerbaits and treble hook lures. I'm thinking about upgrading to 10lb, but 8lb feels much less stiff and more managable. I'm planning on trying 6lb on my spinning outfit this year but can't comment on that yet.

Daiwa Sol Handle
Anyone know the length of the handle on the Sol BC? Would prefer mm so I can compare to my other reels. Thanks.

Spinnerbait rig?
Curado E7 on an MBR843 GLX/IMX. Its a MH fast action rod and is excellent for any spinnerbait in the 1/4 - 5/8 oz range. The GLX will have a slightly softer tip than the IMX, which I prefer for spinnerbaits. Obviously many reels will work, I just happen to have an E7 and I prefer a faster gear ratio for spinnerbait fishing.

Dobyns Champion 702SF
Brokju, Is that warranty only over the counter at Dobyns dealers, as the website makes it seem. Or can it be similar to the Loomis expiditor service where you pay the $60 and they send you a new rod and then you send them the broken one?

CDM Brine vs Zane
I google everything. Already checked out the site and saw that. Just looking for anyone with some first hand experience that may be able to comment further.

CDM Brine vs Zane
I have seen that model recommended when looking for a larger size before, however I really don't like the style. I liked the Brine and the Zane looks similar but maybe a bit bigger.
-
CDM Brine vs Zane
How do these two models compare to one another as far as size. I have a pretty big round head and I'm trying to determine which would best fit me. I was able to try on the Brine and they fit pretty nicely but seems a bit small for my face. Is the Zane slightly larger?

Interesting Jig
That creature bait near the bottom of the page looks pretty sweet too, kinda like the rage smokin' rooster.

Daiwa Sol BC
Does anyone know the weight of the Sol's spool?

Curado dilemma
I bent the handle near one of the knobs on my E7 too. I was able to bend it back and it works fine now. I asked Bantam what the price for the handle assembly would be and if I remember correctly I think he said it was around $50
