  1. from what I know they grow so fast that toxins/contaminants don't have a chance to build up in them. So in fact they are the cleanest fish in the river to eat. Not to mention the grass in the potomac filters out alot of crap and chemicals

Few friends of mine run a store called Spokes etc here in VA, and one thing I do know is getting fitted properly is the most important thing when buying a bike. You will be in alot of pain after a long ride on a bike that doesnt fit right. Spend at least 500 bux imo.
  3. Just bought an almost new house on a few acres along with a black twin turbo Z06 ;D Now I just gotta get my driveway paved and a garage built in a hurry
  4. Jets will own the AFC along with the Colts Im sure , hope my Ravens can make the playoffs tho. Curious to see how the NFC pans out.
  5. Up here in VA they are growing fast and 10 pounders are normal now. I dont really care to catch any more of them, Id rather use a bow instead of rod/reel. The slime they produce is the worst imo
  6. I wll try to make it if innsbrook is the spot, my bassboat is down for a few weeks so I cannot fish lake anna or any other big body of water till my neighbor rebuilds my carbs >
  7. washington sailing marina is a good lil spot to catch quality bass but its shallow and right now in the heat you might not catch much, worth a try tho
  8. I havent moved yet but its an almost new house on two acres right where orange and spotsy counties meet. Bout 35 minutes from lake anna and twenty five minutes off the central park exit
  9. Lake Anna is always good if you know the basics of what to do out there. No such thing as a free launch there tho. And the private side is off limits unless you own land there. Plus the warm side sucks right now anyways, I fished it a month ago and mostly caught 10 inch white perch along with a few small bass. The cold side is poppin right now if you like fishing deep. I'll be fishing the warm side all winter like I did last winter, that place is dynamite when it gets cold out.
  10. being that I just bought a house in central va this might be something I would be down for. Guess I am no longer a NOVA guy I havent been out on my bassboat in a month so Im itchin to fish:( Cold side of lake anna would be fun or Chick lake.

why is the boat on plane ? did u keep the fish ?
  12. With this 100 degree weather lately its tough to catch much so just catching a few is a success. In the spring , fall and summer however , it's a different standard for me. I went from catching 10-15 keeper size bass a day in the spring to catching 6-8 a day now if I'm lucky. Then again I cannot fish more then 4-5 hours straight in this heat. In the spring I was out for 8 hours at a time.

I handled the colt today and liked it. But I heard they jam up quite a bit. Infact Green Top which is one of the top fish/hunt shops in VA says they wont carry it anymore because so many ppl bought one there and came back with complaints. I take it yours has been trouble free ? Have you had to fix anything ?

for the money either the sig 522 or the smith and wesson m&p 15-22. Both have had some issues here and there but for the money dont expect a work of art. I'll probably be gettin the smith myself very soon. Im buying a house with more then 5 acres so I'll be in my yard shooting at everything I see
  15. I have a house on the private side of lake anna so I dont know much bout the public side but Im sure it gets ugly out there. I was out on the potomac yesterday and it was a 3 ring circus. I had jet skis roaring by me 30-40 feet away in what was already a nasty chop. Here is what needs to be done- have cops at all the major ramps checking for boat safety certificates. If the owner of the boat doesnt have it then they are not allowed to launch. Just checking for registration is not enough. I got checked last night and all they wanted to see was my registration. They didnt seem to care bout everything else Im supposed to have. Seems like the people enforcing the law are lazy about it. What a shame that someone tryin to help others lost his lfe cuz some idiot is oblivious to the world around him. I hope he didnt leave young kids and a wife behind.
  16. hope you have a serious trolling motor if youre goin anywhere near marsh island. That place is a jungle right now. If you stay in the channel that wraps around marsh island and fish the grass edges you'll be alright but thats about it. I was goin there constantly march thru may then it just got too dang thick there for me esp when the wind is blowing you back into the grass when youre trolling out of that place. Also be careful how you approach there , when you come up from the mouth of mattawman stay to your left in the channel that wraps around the back of the island cuz there are alot of rocks there right in front of marsh island. Buzzbaits are very good right now btw esp in the morning and evening. Usually right around 7:30 the bite gets amazing right up till sunset.
  17. the iilegal mexicans are the ones causing alot of the problems in NOVA. Since no one else came out and said it, there I said it. They keep everything they catch regardless of species or size. And from what I heard they started showng up at the ponds in Cashburn. So basically if you arent mexican, you wont draw the same kinda attention if you decide to fish there. But I agree, leave those ponds to the folks who live there , there are plenty of other spots to fish in virginia. And for the record I was raised by central americans so plz dont anyone start implying what I said is even sightly biased or racist.
  18. please tell me you dont hold fish with pliers ? Thats a big no no unless you're gonna keep one to eat and bass dont taste very good
  19. Fishing on the potomac seems way better then it was this time last year altho I have another year of experience which is a factor also. I remember going out last year and catching 3 fish each time out if I was lucky and all under two pounds. Not the case anymore And Wayne you keep count of the small ones too ? I try to forget bout the sub 12 inch bass I catch. Do you keep track of how you caught each one too ? What is your most succesful pattern ?
  20. This guy is an absolute fool. Just thought I had to share this video http://www.streetfire.net/video/jet-ski-loading-fail_2022987.htm
  21. Nice to see some pics from ya, been a while. I need to get myself out there and get in on some of that jig fishing. What did the biggest one weigh ? Over 5 lbs I presume. I'll be out on the river in a few hours to hopefully get some more biggins myself.
  22. don't let anyone tell you that you need a fancy boat to catch quality fish on the river. Don't limit yourself to small bodies of water just cuz you have a smaller boat. There are a few guys that cash checks in those potomac tourneys out of jon boats. The last few times I went out it was real calm out there with no chop or waves at all. Boat traffic and wind play a part
  23. anyone even caught anything over 5 pounds there this year or any numbers ?
  24. congrats on a fine catch. I love fishin cranks. Used to hate it but now I catch at least half of my fish on a Manns minus one. Good times
  25. I'll be the first to admit I know little bout Burke Lake. What I do know is usually the folks who do well there really know that place. Which is why I suggested the potomac. You will catch more fish on accident there then you will on purpose at Burke Lake any day. And since we both live in the dumfries area I wanted to help you out. My two cents for that its worth.
