  1. That was a neat video. I like how he mentions WaWa which is pretty polular here in Virginia. Infact last I heard he was dating a girl from Fairfax Virginia. Thanks for posting that Glenn, good stuff.
  2. Great idea Dave and very practical
  3. Marc- You still had a good day tho considering your best limit was probably close to 15 pounds. Sucks to lose a biggin so close tho.
  4. I hope u gutted it as soon as u killed it and made fillets. Tastes alot better that way. Goes really well with pasta actually. Slimey lil knuckleheads too
  5. read this last night on yahoo news. I didnt realize he was 67 years old tho. He was one of the great metal singers of all time. I grew up on metal and Dio was the man. Rest in peace
  6. I love daiwa but these are junk. Bought one last summer at BPS and it started falling apart within a few months. The handle design is the worst ever. The screw that holds the rubber part of the handle in place backs out for no reason. If all you do is shore fish then it wll last. But if you are out on a boat in rough conditions and its takin a beating on the deck or in the rod locker then it wont last at all. Also Daiwa uses some cheap plastic spacers in the handle itself. They do break often. My sol spinning reel had it break after only 4 months use. I love the way daiwa spinning reels feel and work but that handle design needs to be up to par with shimanos. I would look at a shimano symetre for the price range you are in. Much better reel. Also keep in mind the td pro is made for BPS and the employees there wll tell you how great it is and how you should buy it over a symetre, total BS.
  7. I own 7 glx rods and love them and I just got an IMX. I must say the IMX is super nice.Plus you can find them used all the time. Cant comment on the st croix since all I own is an avid but I wll say the avid cant even come close to the IMX. Also keep in mind GLX are very underpowered, the MH is more like a medium.
  8. Don't have any ideas for fishing Danville but I'm curious why you moved there. I used to date a girl that lived there and there is nothing to do there. Very sleepy lil town. I cant help but feel bad for ya. Good luck and hope you find some spots to fish.
  9. I expect a report complete with GPS coordinates seriously tho I hope you can get onto some giants, I have a feeling you will.
  10. Good luck and be safe out there.
  11. I'll be at my moms birthday party or I would go and at least see the weigh in. Good luck out there .
  12. I was thinkin Neabsco Creek, hard to tell tho.
  13. 3 pounds over 3 days isnt huge and can be made up by just catching one nice 6 pounder on the last day. Look at what Jon Crews did not too long ago, caught a 5 pounder on his last cast to beat Skeet by a few ounces . I think Terri has a better chance this year due to him hiring someone to work at his shop which allows him to fish alot more. Last year he was hardly ever gettin out on the river cuz he was always at the shop. I'm pulling for the guy, he's clearly one of the best bass anglers in the state and if anyone deserves it, it's him. Finishing second place to the BASS Elite series rookie of the year is nothing to be ashamed of anyways.
  14. who's hittin the river this weekend ? My allergies are killin me or I would be going out myself.
  15. Ya I remember, Terri Olinger from Warbirds led the tourney the first two days and everyone started followng him to see what he was doing. Bobby Lane just barely edged out Terri by 3-4 pounds or so from what I recall. This isnt something for me unless I do it as a co-angler. Good luck
  16. how much is the entry fee ? And how well do you know the river ?
  17. That's what she said - might want to close the barn door for the next photo shoot chief. Ya I noticed that as soon as I got home and looked at the pic. At least nothing was hangin out ;D
  18. Washington sailing marina is a good place to be and it wont be crowded either. I had alot of success there in the fall with stanley wedge spinnerbaits. And some friends of mine have caught keepers there recently. Too bad you cant go south or I would turn you onto a few money spots I been fishin lately. I would bring some Manns baby minus ones, red eye shad lipless crankbaits, wareagle half ounce spinnerbaits and 3/8 ounce as well. Brush hogs work right now and so do yamamoto kreatures. Buzzbaits are good in the morning so have a few on hand in case. Wouldnt hurt to have some zoom super salt flukes on hand either, they been working for me out there with a fast retrieve. Be very very careful as that part of the river is tricky and dangerous. Also google potomac tides and check to see how its gonna be. The water has been low lately with no tide to speak of, hopefully that will change before saturday or its gonna make it even tricker to navigate. Good luck and holla at me if you need anything.
  19. I rather avoid those 3 footers if at all possible. You were right tho when you said the water level made for some good fishing. If only I found the pattern and location I was in sooner before the sun set I could have caught alot more 3-4 pounders, maybe even a 5+. Always happens to me when I go out, I start off slow and then start to catch on, by then it's time to leave. Such is life
  20. the water was crazy low all day which made me nervous bout crossing the river but I did it anyways. Paid off, me and my buddy both caught a few decent fish. Biggest was 4 pounds and a few 3 pounders along with a few dinks and a striper I caught in 15 feet of water on a crankbait.
  21. I guess Im gonna have to go and see for myself how its lookin out there in a few.
  22. This isnt good. Im supposed to be goin back out tommorow out of leesylvania and the place Im fishing is only two or three feet deep at high tide to begin with.
  23. you do have an inline breaker installed right ? You need either a 50 or a 60 amp breaker inlline with the red wire going from the battery to the trolling motor.
  24. OK I should clarify bout the gas mileage. I put 9 gallons in one of the tanks that was empty, went from leesylvania to mattawman, then to mallows bay and then back to leesylvania and used just about all the 9 gallons I had put in. It's a 1992 johnson 200 gt and it gets probably around 1mpg. Sux but that's what an old carbed 2 stroke does on a 20 foot boat.
  25. never heard of any ramp that costs that much to launch. I know leesylvania charges around 13 bux on the weekends and 8 bux during the week. I have an annual pass which is the way to go. Can someone chime in and maybe clarify ? What are the ramp choices in Aquia and how much do they cost ? Either way I rather save the wear and tear on my boat and outboard and launch much closer instead of makin a 10 mile round trip. Aquia is better fishing then anything further up north anyways, fewer snakeheads to deal with too from what I hear.
