I use to use sewing thread and wrap it, some use to take panty hose and tie the liver inside it but both those methods might be illegal now and probably was then. I don't know.

First off Welcome to the site!! Are you ordering online I think you might be able to find better within that price, even in stores. If I had to choose the Abu for me I always like their Spinning reels in away. The Shakespear I always messed with seemed rough. The Abu rod I would be concerned about. If they anything like their older models the tips seem to break. I bought my brother's Father-n-law one and the tip broke. Then again that Shakespear seems to be much better from reading about than the ones I messed with. If deadset on those two just do a online check for reviews on both. Here is a combo that I like. I have the older model in 6'6 M. I use it for wacky all the time. It's $79 ten more than the Abu. Suposely mine(reel) was made by Pflueger at the time and when they went GSX I was told they switched over to Quantum. Might be the Shakespear rod. I could be wrong but they make one too. For that matter if new see if can return. Older I'm not sure might have to just get new rod. Hopefully someone can help if still under warranty!

For deep too? My wife is very upset that I spent that much but I been wanting a Curado for awhile now and Crucial has a nice buzz. What size line should I use? I might have a lil Trilene 10# flouro left that I can use for now. All my 12# and 14# looks to low. I think I might have enough 12# Yo-zuri Hybrid. Out of the two? Both clear. Man oh man I should have check this earlier I was gone though. Wow I thought J Francho was talking about Citica yesterday for $80. Well I joined the posse today today. I had to settle for the $139 deal on a Curado. I got the 200E5 for cranking. The 5.0:1 ratio. I also got a Crucial for $119 CRC-C70M, 7' M-MF. I went to BPS and Green Top, purchased at Green Top. I didn't check with Gander Mountain not sure if would have been cheaper anyways and didn't bother with the Dick's up that way. Figure Hookingem done rob them blind, lol. How good is that rod for cranking and deep cranking?

Yea it's the thermocline and Wayne p here is really helping me out. I have post in Boat section About my finder and certain settings. Yea I was using Senko's Plum apple. Never tried flicking so I will look that up and see how the rig looks and goes. I don't think he would been upset if it was smaller bass but god that bass was huge and gone.

Nice and my brother just had one happen Sunday on his Top Dog Jr. We never seen a bass so big. My 4# would be swallowed whole by him. He got the bass all the way to boat and then the bass made another run and soon after the bass did. The bass jumped clear out the water and shook off my brother lure. After that my brother was ready to go home. I was upset for him.
