Anti-reverse bearing
Something else is wrong if your going through ARs like that. My best guess is that you're over lubricating.

Problems with Pflueger Sumpreme XT
Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. If you want to send it in I'll be glad to take a look.

1/8 - 1/4 jig blank
The standard MHX is nice blank and I reserve the hm line for finesse applications which I would consider this case one of. I'd go with the hm based on my understanding of the application.

Braid good or bad
There are pluses and minuses for everything. Braid is strong and sensitive but had poor shock resistance and can fray. A backlash can send a heavy bait sailing never to be seen again . A leader in wood cover or dragging over zebra mussels addresses fraying concerns. Visibility is the least of my concerns except for maybe gin clear open water.

1/8 - 1/4 jig blank
I use a lot of MHX blanks with great results. I haven't used the elite pro line though. The ml is crisp but depending on the trailer 3/8 plus might feel better on the HM med. plus you have the extra power in the butt.

Rod power choice
Put aside the subjective labels for a minute. Disregard line ratings altogether. Once you choose s make and model for consideration, determine the total weight you'll cast and pick a Rod with the lure weight ratings that have a range where your weight falls near the middle. Go with whatever power it's labeled as. If you're fishing heavy cover you may opt to compromise casting for landing power or look in another line for something with a different combo of butt and tip.

Which Pflueger Spinner in 6:2:1 ratio?
The Pflueger spinners are a great bang for the buck in general the president in particular . If you like the features of the xt or limited you could do worse for the same money.

Which Pflueger Spinner in 6:2:1 ratio?
What's the posted ipt on the standard president? Ratio and ipt are not necessarily directly linked.

Problems with Pflueger Sumpreme XT
This too vague to diagnose without seeing it. Dry AR clutches and rough worm gears are sometimes misdiagnosed as main gear problems. Dinged up nylon idler gears can be felt. Truly worn out main and pinion gears are actually fairly rare.

Externally adjustable centrifugal brakes
Don't try removing brake blocks. My guess is that the reel would benefit from s deep cleaning and bearing flush. Also don't minimize the tool the Rod and line play ( more than the reel )

Attaching Braid to Fluorocarbon
Do you Alberto guys find the Albright lacking somehow or do you just feel better adding the extra wraps? I use the Albright and can't remember ever having a knot fail.

Rodgeeks Question
I've got a natural blank here now. There are a couple swirls visible on it but it's on par with other natural / matte finishes I've seen.

Flattery will get you everywhere.

Osaka 2016
Right, I just meant the concept doesn't appeal to me. But then, neither does DC braking at least at this point. I must be getting old , even the Shimano adjustable cent brakes are "eh" to me. Lol

Osaka 2016
Automated spool tension doesn't make sense to me. Too many situations and preferences.

Lew's TLW1SH Tournament Laser
Lews has entirely too many models. I couldn't keep them straight to save my life.

Need advice on light line
8lb braid or 8 lb diameter which is more like 40lb?

scorpion xt 1500-7
That's about the going rate. That series has a strong following so you rarely if ever see a real steal on them.

Externally adjustable centrifugal brakes
The Shimano and Daiwa brakes systems are completely different in the way they work. "Completely adjustable from outside " and centrifugal don't go together. I don't find the adjustability feature of the new shimanos particularly useful but that's just me. The Daiwa system is magnetic but the inductor moves under centrifugal force which makes for a very linear and efficient brake force except at very low speed which is good for pitching (as with cent. ).

Did I get a deal?
The G series got totally overlooked and you benefitted. That's a great deal on z good reel.

BUTT GREASE / SHORT FOR BUTTER?
It is illegal for a manufacturer to require proprietary maintenance products to keep warranty in force. Any of a number of quality lubricants will fit the bill. Marine grease or super lube work fine for either caring or spinning reels. Wet drags require drag grease like Cals or Shimano and they can do double duty. If you'd like to email or call I'll be happy to consult with you regarding diy or sending them in .

St Croix Avid 6'9 MLXF CASTING Rod
Hard to beat for an off the shelf Rod for those apps and more.
