How did you do this years so far?
Just being able to bass fish is a wonderful accomplishment for me. This year, I had a few goals in mind. As you all know, bass fishing can be tough to learn. So much to learn! The different baits, riggings, equipment, water conditions, knots, fishing reports, etc. I've read books, surfed the internet, purchased countless vidoes, spent time with seasoned fishmen, you name it. I can remember a time when just reading a fishing report or article about bass fishing would give me a head spin. None of it made sense. But now, I very seldom read anything about bass fishing that throws me off. My education was really enhanced when I joined this board. You folks (all of you) have contributed to my continued education in the pursuit of the bass. I thank you so much! So all and all...I've had a great year!

Bass resource pro team
When I first read this post, I knew it would be dangerous. It's easy to leave somebody out. Every fisherman thinks they are the best--present company excluded. I'm a beginner. But I do know alot! Some of most insightful and helpful information I've received from this board has come from none of the above. We all know more than any one of us. That's what make this board so good. Singling people out ain't a good thing fellows.

Buck Perry dead
I have to admit, I've never heard of the guy. But after reading his bio, I'm really impressed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Seems he passed in August. He's at home with the Lord he loved so much.

Paging Dr. Raul
We are very fortunate to have people like Raul around to educate us in our sport. I know Raul would agree that we are very fortunate to have a good number of people, i.e., RoadWarrior and a number of other good contributors that we can benefit from too. We know more together than any one of us.

Kevin Van Dam has a DVD out called Flippin and Pitchin. It's available from Bass Pro Shops. The DVD is pretty good.

what other sites do u recommend for...
At some point, you'll want to settle down to one or two sources. When you do, this one will be on your short list. Sometimes, you have to see the other side before you can appreciate what you have. At some point, you'll reach the conclusion we all reach sooner or later: We are drowning in information, and starving for knowledge. So when that happens, it is best to be with people who know the deal. It's tough sometime to reach out. But here you can. I like what ole Mark Twain said. "It ain't what you don't know that gets you in trouble; its what you know for sure that ain't so". Better ask somebody. Just my two cents.

Another new guy

Deliberate Planning
From reading all the replies, the word that comes to mind is: Agile. Agility is the key. Think through your plan and make the necessary adjustment at the lake. Let the conditions dictate your response. This has been helpful for me in thinking through some issues. Thanks! Ray

Fishing Log Idea
Fire and Ice, While I can't disagree with anything you said, I think each to his own. But there's nothing wrong with recording facts. Some can benefit from the data stream while others, not so much. I like the camera phone and the technology it represents. It's all good!
