  1. What do you think? I'm a member of bass but haven't made the leap to Bass Insider. If you are a member of Bass Insider, please tell us the benefit you get from it.
  2. The truth is always better.
  3. I'm wondering what is to be gained from the experiment.
  4. Nboucher, I haven't considered and kayak but I'll give them a look. Thanks for the suggestion.
  5. Looking for recommendations for a good fishing canoe to use on some of the small ponds and lakes. I've never owned a canoe before so clue me in on what to look for. Thanks
  6. Welcome to all the new members. Chug Bug, it's good to see another Marylander aboard. I'm in Greenbelt. Good to have you too Tiger!
  7. There's something about FREE that appeals to me. I like your idea KU. I've got tons of plastic bags around the house.
  8. I am curious how big the fish you are catching in your area. I live in Maryland and I'm generally catching fish around the 2-4 Lbs range. That's pretty standard in the lake I fish. How about your lake?
  9. I tried it. I found out about on a BassResource video. You're right--the action is excellent.
  10. I bet YOUR son is loving life! He's so blessed to have a father like you.
  11. There is enough talent on this board to have its own show. Call it, "Bass Fishing for the Working Stiff". With your talent for the graphics and movies, we can have some real training and education going on. You could produce some footage on Flukes, the carolina rig, baits we like, etc. How about that!
  12. Just remember, if Charlie don't win, it's not a show. They aren't looking for the best fishermen--they are looking for the best entertaining fishermen. I bet he'd accept if he was challenged by Reel lady!
  13. I have to say Red has not helped me one bit. We're a pretty diverse group, somebody should form a poll question about this issue.
  14. Yeah, man--get the license. Avid said it best.

    Welcome aboard!
  16. The truth has worked for you all year, why stop now!
  17. Ditto what Abelfisher said. You can read all the books you want but at some point you're going to have to wet a hook to test the knowledge.
  18. There are a lot of articles on the site that are helpful if you know the subject you want to find out about. I'm not familiar with books that can get you started but I am familiar with being new to bass fishing, hence my name. I found that, I needed to break bass fishing down into small bites. Rods, reels, tackle, knots, bass environment, etc. Learning the language was also a challenge. But this forum help a lot with that. Ask a lot of questions and read a lot here. It will save you a lot of money.
  19. There are many, many more books referenced on this site. Do a search on books and see what comes up. This is a fairly frequent question.
  20. Come on home! You've been gone long enough. I thank you for your service to this great country.
  21. I agree with Paparock. Just ask the folks at the counter. That's the beginning of doing the right thing.
  22. I think another perspective is needed. Both techniques should be considered bait delivery systems and they both work great in a given situation. So both of you are right.
  23. It is one of life's simple pleasures for me to go purchase my Fishing license each year. I usually purchase DC, Virginia, and NC out-of-state licenses so I can fish there too! It just ain't worth it to get caught without a license.
  24. I can do it better with a spinning rod. 6'6 M or MH.
  25. I was using a spook. I did pretty good with it. I also used a Bill Dance Excalubur Spit N Image.
