  1. Nice post. Makes sense to me!
  2. What a great story! Everyone should read the history. Makes this even more of a special place.
  3. I think this is the coolest place on the web to gain knowledge about bass fishing. I spend a great deal of time reading the post--one of the highlights of my day. But who is Bass Resource.com? What type of organization is it? I'm clueless.
  4. Worm Binder from Bass Pro Shop. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=52245&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
  5. My money is on the turtle.
  6. I also fish at a military installation and I see guys violating the rules all the time. Like the others said, all you can really do is ascertain that he knows that he is fishing in an unauthorized place. You could call Security Forces for all the good that it does. The lake I fish sits right in the flight path of landing aircraft. The lake is catch and release. This Saturday, a couple of guys caught some really nice bass and they kept them. I asked them if they knew it was catch and release. They acknowledged they did. I didn't say anything else to them. I would have really liked a chance at those bass but they are in a frying pan by now. A pity.
  7. Welcome to the site. We look forward to learning from you.
  8. I've seen this method in Europe.
  9. I learned a long time ago that if you open up your arms, please will walk right on it. That's apparently what's been happening here. Bassresource.com ROCKS!
  10. Is anybody here a member of Bass Insider? Is it worth the money?
  11. A hearty welcome to you! Relax. Exhale. Life is good here!
  12. This is a wonderful post! Thanks Chris!
  13. We need a bumper sticker!
  14. I understand where your coming from LBH. On the otherhand, there isn't that much of an investment in getting a fishing program going. Trying the think outside the box, this might not be a bad idea.
  15. That's pretty sad about the bass. They are such fun fish to catch. A lot of people with bass boats helped rescue a lot of people who otherwise could have drown. That effort is a tribute to the kind of people we have in this sport.
  16. Welcome! Life is better here!
  17. Chevy, You stick around here long enough, the bait monkey will fix that!
  18. I guess my weakness is much like yours. I don't own or throw very many crankbaits. I have more confidence in throwing a worm. I made an initial investment in crankbaits about a month ago so I plan to fish them until I get it right. I am also struggling with jigs. I'm learning more about them but right now I'm struggling.
  19. Wow! This could be one of the best topics yet. Thanks for asking it. I think everything that has been said is right on the money. I would say learn from your positive and negative moment fishing and appreciate both. Some things that have made me a better fisherman: Practice DVDs with varying points of view Bassresource.com The point is turning information into knowledge by experience. Experience into wisdom through practice. Thinking through what Mark Twain said a long time ago. What is it that I know for sure about a given fishing situation that ain't so?
  20. That's really nice! Great idea!
  21. Ok--how would a paragraph using these abbreviations read? c-rig pb s/b wh t-rig MH t/m bk BPS ML t/x bl T/W FLW lcd EWG c/b ch The sentence illustrates my point.
  22. I have it and I really like it. I think it is more for beginners so it was especially helpful to me. I did not find the DVD to be really in-depth. He pitched a lot of products he promotes. He covers Carolina Rigs, some on crankbaits, Ledgebuster spinnerbaits, selecting a rod, line; and drop shotting. There was also a little on jigs. I would say if it was a college course, it would be a 100 level course. I like Woo Daves. He is a really nice guy.
  23. I remember when I first started to learn about bass fishing, figuring out the abbreviations bout killed me. So to help some of the really newcomers out, I thought I'd start a thread with abbreviations. I'll start: C-Rig OR Crig - Carolina Rigging T-Rig OR Trig - Texas Rigging BPS - Bass Pro Shop KVD - Kevin Van d**n TW - Top Water Many, many others.
  24. I learned by watching a DVD by KVD on flippin and pitchin. It was worth the 9.95 to actually see somebody do it. The DVD is available from BPS.
