  1. You made a great choice with the Chronarch 50mgs. I have two of them and I love em both! I have one of them mounted on a G-Loomis IMX and it is sweet. You can fish it all day and not get tired. Reel Mechanic takes care of them for me.
  2. What do you guys use when fishing with frogs? Some say heavy rod with lots of tip. Some say Med-Heavy. What about length? I know I'll fish this rig every once in a while. What should I get?
  3. Welcome to the Bass House of Knowledge.
  4. Fishing line is not that expensive. Try both and see which one you like best. I did. I don't have a real preference one way or the other. I fish both. I fished Power Pro the longest but a friend was fishing suffix so I tried that too. Both are good in my opinion.
  5. Ike is a really nice fellow. I met him when the Bass tour came to the Potomac last year. Very personable guy. Never give up!
  6. I'm a member. Been one of and on since 1978. I don't get a lot of benefit out of it. I just treat it as a subscription to a magazine.
  7. Well I have two 50s. Best reels I've ever fished with. Smooth and light. I fish'em on my worm rod and my spinnerbait rod. It really depend on how you plan to use the reels. I think the 50s are a good bet for all around fishing. I have both my 50s paired with loomis rods. Sweet, sweet, sweet. You could fish these combo's all day and not be tired. I own several older Curados and I prefer them in certain situations.
  8. Nice pictures. What temperature were you fishing in?
  9. Great question! I asked this question a long time ago myself. After spending tons of money on equipment, I can tell you I would invest first in quality rods. All my rods are G Loomis. I invested heavily in improving my equipment this year. Rods first then reels.
  10. Well I'm one of the mechanically challenged people. I send my stuff to Reel Mech. He makes them better than new. Great service! Merry Christmas everybody!
  11. Really nice! Thanks for sharing.
  12. It's always an interesting question. I love the responses. The Bait Monkey is a powerful creature! The one thing that got him off my back temporarily was when Bass Pro Shop sent me a letter thanking me for being in the top ten percent of their sales during the month of July. I tell you, that scared the Bait Monkey out of me.
  13. I have my Stradic 2500 mounted on a 7' G Loomis IMX rod. It's sweet!
  14. I use the SJR 843 (7') with a Shimano Stradic 2500. It's my dream outfit. One of the best choices I've ever made in fishing tackle. You won't regret it. Most of my rods are 6'6 or 6'8. Get the 7 footer. You won't regret it. Lots of sticking and casting power.
  15. Your updates are really encouraging. Thanks for sharing your excitement with us! Make us proud brother!
  16. Welcome to the forum! There's another fellow on here from Bastrop. This is bass place to be!
  17. What a great opportunity! Nice pictures too!
  18. Nice footage! The song....not so much.
  19. Go with Bassin and Bassmaster. Between the two, you'll be hooked up!
  20. I've fished em on spinning tackle but I like fishing em on baitcaster better. I believe your friend was in error.
  21. Being a part of something like that should make you so proud.
  22. I had a great year as far as I'm concerned. I upgraded my primary fishing equipment which gave me a lot more confidence in fishing. I learned how to topwater fish, something I had set as a goal at the beginning of the year. I caught more fish on spinner baits which is also something I wanted to do. However, my crankbaiting wasn't all that hot. Mostly this is because the places I fish frequently didn't lend itself to crankbaiting. I got all my reels serviced by a professional and I sealed all my rod cork with sealer. I tried fishing with jigs but didn't have all that much success. I am happy with the fish I caught this year. Mostly 3 and 4 lbers. I caught fish just about everytime I went out. So all and all, it was a great year.
  23. You'll not go wrong listening to Avid and RW young man.
