  1. Would this be a good time to mention the Wolverines & Buckeyes?
  2. Hey Steve, your shirt changed color. What kind of water where you swimming in? Nice nice looking gals you caught though.
  3. My guess would be that the color change goes along with a change in content of the soil. Though I can't see them, if there are rocks present where the color change occurs, it could be outcroppings of gravel surrounded by softer soils. They could also be areas that just haven't been covered over by silt. You may want to discuss this with any residents that lived there during the time of the draw down of the lake to see if they remember anything about it. Regardless, if it does represent a change in bottom content, it would pay to try to work the edge if it become reachable.
  4. In a tournament, the first thing you need to do is to understand that everyone is fishing under the same conditions. Keep a positive attitude. Then do exactly what Catt said!
  5. I was just getting over the mental picture of the differences between Paris, France and Paris, MI/KY/TX or whatever state was the target of the day. At least until you posted this. Thongs A Lot!

Aches and pains are the pits, but it doesn't hold a candle to having to go under the knife! Thanks for putting all of my small <graded on the curve> problems that I've been whining about lately into a new light. Hope you get on the mend soon!
  7. Yeah, I can see you pitching tight to cover using only one eye and no depth perception!
  8. This issue has nothing to do with the kid, and everything to do with the long history of schools and their coaches that try to justify their supposed greatness by running up the score in lopsided contests. Every type of mercy rule finds its roots there. Back in history (early 1990's)I can remember UM pounding the University of Houston in a lopsided football game. It was funny to hear the Houston coach whining about UM running up the score when the very next week Houston scored something like 70 unanswered points against a Div-II school. Hopefully the kid recognizes that his talent isn't something so special that he falls into the trappings that might await him in the near future. Hopefully his future coachs realize it too.
  9. No doubt about it, you've got a leak somewhere. First places I would look is to see whether the current drain plug is secure. Next check all of the plumbing for the livewells to see if a hose or fixture is the problem. The last problem could be loose rivets or a problem with one of the seams. My guess given the age of the boat, is that you have a leak around the drain plug or somewhere in the livewell system. Make sure the plug fits tightly and that all of the other thru-hull fixtures are snug and have a good bead of sealant around them. The best way to check this out would be to dry the bilge area completely, and then watch the area after launching. From the way you describe it, the leak is sever enough that you should find the problem fairly fast.
  10. And I'll bet you thought TW had everything you could ever want!
  11. So kid, when you putting all your fishing stuff up for sale? Don't be spending your college fund for this auction! http://entertainment.ha.com/common/search_results.php?N=53+793+794+792+4294954320
  12. I'm impressed that you and Aaron were both able to shift your gaze over to that handgun! It wasn't until the second time I looked at that picture that I noticed the red tip, a dead giveaway for a toy. Also, if you look at her hands, check out how her left thumb is sitting on the slide. As Chris Farley would've said; "That's going to leave a mark!".
  13. Happy Birthday RW! Hope you're having a great day.
  14. X2 right back at ya, she's cute as the dickens. But what's wrong with that picture?
  15. I hope you're taking a few of those Walters home for the frying pan. Scary thought, but maybe your best chance to take a picture of one of those "Dwight-Sized" smalljaws would be if your wife caught it. Get that lady in the boat!
  16. The only sad part of this contest will be all of the people flying through countless pages of articles looking for that little icon, and never reading a word contained in any of them!
  17. Why does this look like a search for asian porn gone horribly wrong?
  18. I haven't much luck on that number A-Jay. Maybe because everytime I've gone there, that darn kid of mine starts howling about jigs/leeches, jig/minnows, and anything else he can think of to keep me from targeting anything but those pesky walleyes! I'm happy to see someone gets to take advantage of those fish, as the only thing I've really enjoyed there is a nice shady campsite. Now if you'd change the 44 into a 45, and maybe the 84 into an 83, I can sometimes talk him into going after brown fish. Have you heard anything about the tournament held up there this last weekend? A two day ten fish limit supposedly came in just under 45lbs to win it!
  19. Boy, is my wife mad at you. When I showed her why you said Rodney, MI didn't qualify for a roadtrip destination, she growled and hasn't spoken since. On the other hand, I've been enjoying the silence!
  20. Here is an interesting article on the subject: http://fishcooking.about.com/od/howtochoosefreshfish/a/storingfish.htm Just remember that once the fish has died, the faster it needs to get packed in ice!
  21. The wife or daughter would tell all of you that burning a eucalyptus scented candle in your home will repel a lot of those spiders. The number one reason that customers of theirs bought that scent was for that purpose, so maybe it works.
  22. Nice ride Top! Can you imagine how many of the over the hill gang just got another kick towards their second childhood with that picture?
  23. Even the trout fishermen can't agree amongst themselves. Go to Yellowstone and try releasing a lake trout there.
  24. Find shallow cover (Wood, Weeds, Rocks, or Docks). Flip, Pitch, or Cast lures tight to that cover, that either displaces lots of water and/or creates lots of vibration (Colorado Spinnerbiats, Rattling Jigs, Large Paddletail Worms, Big Craws).
