  1. well no it wouldn't be walking all the time. but a lot of the time. the spro gets going with one twitch of the rod tip. i was hoping the Koppers behaved similarly . thanks for the reply
  2. i once started a thread here about Jimmy Houstons bowl haircut that got deleted. i think it was winter time
  3. Strike King Perfect Plastics Game Hawg in Bamabug. And people think Senkos is cheatin'
  4. Well I stuck my foot in my mouth and talked up Scum Frogs (mainly the Scum Dog Walker) a while back on here, but after fishing with them for a couple years, I've decided to go back to Spro or even Koppers if they walk right. Here's why. Spro frogs walk like a champ. It's almost effortless once you understand how to do it. However, all their colors are either too fluorescent or too dark. Yeah yeah i know....dark is good at times, but i like a frog with a light colored belly and natural color top. I don't care if its not as detailed as a Koppers, i just want it to look natural at first glance. not like some crazy, African death tree frog..... which is what most of them look like. Koppers makes a frog that looks way more like frogs I've seen hopping around on the banks of creeks, ponds, and lakes of Mississippi growing up as a kid. And I know many of you elder anglers on here do not support the match-the-hatch theory, but with a relatively slow-moving bait, it's where I'd like to invest a bit of confidence. MAIN QUESTION. Do you guys who can walk the dog with a hollowbody frog while blindfolded, think that these frogs walk as easily as a Spro? Thanks in advance. Clay
  5. nice. for some reason i've always thought gman was an old man lol
  6. ahhh, nothing like being 50 grand in debt with student loans my first day on the job in the real world. good ole american dream!
  7. usually your man-made lakes will have them if any. is there a contour map of the lake/lakes in question? usually they will have any roads that were present before the area was flooded drawn out on the map. otherwise, i guess you could fish out from where the old road is visible from the bank but sometimes they are hard to make out. good electronics will show them to you. if all you have is the cheap factory etch-a-sketch electronics like i have, then look for the depth change once you have determined the vicinity of the road bed. hope that helps
  8. i've always thought bass in the 4 lb range were the best fighters. and caught on light line on lightweight gear? thats not only a PB catch, thats a truly, impressive accomplishment for an angler. good hubby
  9. nice red. wish i could get out there with ya. i still get up early as crap, but i'm tryin to beat tha heat, not other fishermen. i'm done by 10 usually and if I don't nap it screws my bodys system up so bad. i'm miserable and sleepy till i get caught up but it's worth every second!
  10. i have a couple of 7'3"-7'6" heavy action rods for deep jig fishin and froggin. depending how much jiggin'/froggin' you do, I may consider some longer, heavy action rods. they're nice to have for swimbaits and bigger spinnerbaits as well.
  11. i picked up the 1/4 oz shallow diver bluegill crankbait on a gift certificate not too long ago and catch the crap out of em with it.it behaves much like a squarebill, deflects easily.
  12. dang dude. ain't nothing like that goin on down here. somebody's gotta get em nice job
  13. i had the tassels too and it was considered a boys bike. and i know i'm not the only one that put a playing card in the spokes to make it sound like a dirt bike lmao
  14. how come? if you don't mind me asking
  15. that's really funny, before i saw the post asking what line you were using, i was gonna ask you if you were using Vanish. i had the problems your having when i tried the stuff almost a couple years ago. i actually just ended using up the rest for leaders and never had any problems after that
  16. i prefer swivels when throwing flukes weightless especially if using spinning gear.
  17. that looks like a sweet little hole
  18. why do they look so surprised? way to git em
  19. wow. look at this beaut. this thread got me curious about the red-eye record and this is the pic i found. looks closely related to a spot. absolutely gorgeous fish!
  20. Catt thanks for the tip on the "Please Release Me" product. but i understand that is a substance you place in a livewell or weigh-in bag after removing a hook set deeply. but is there anything out there(other than soda pop) that can be applied before releasing the fish right after removing throat hooked hooks?
  21. take off all your clothes and start fishing naked like everything is normal, they'll leave... works every time. obviously it's not illegal to fish on top of other fishermen, but it's kinda like the bro code. its not illegal to date a good friend's ex, but it violates the bro code. we'd all like to think it should just be understood. however, are you sure that when you went to your truck, that they didn't move in on your spot cause they thought you were leaving? jusayin'
  22. yup, i've promised myself to use what i have and to not buy anything other than hooks, line, weights and such. forces me to branch out anyways and use them how i originally intended to use them when i bought em six years ago
  23. awesome thread. I would like to see more peoples images and their interpretations/experiences about them
