  1. This is a cool idea. Good job everybody. About the deer; I 'm pretty sure that it doesn't look very real at all.
  2. This site definitley fits its name. Cool interview.
  3. For the thickest of weads, I would reccomend using a topwater frog. They are one of the most wealess baits and are a blast to fish. If you get a strike but dont hook the fish,(this happens often with frogs) throw back a weigtless worm in that spot. Have fun!
  4. Yeah!, I noticed that too! Except its only happpend for me one time, not 8.
  5. As long as you release the fish unharmed and vary your approach, you can fish a pond several times a weak and catch fish every time.
  6. Well Im convinced that a bass is not as smart as we think they are. Just lately I was fishing a lake when I caught the same bass twice in a short amount of time. I caught it, realesed it, then caught it again. I know it was the same fish, I seen it the whole time. Another thing that convinced me of this is i was fishing for bluegill in a high pressured park pond.( there was 15-20 other people fishing it within 4-5 hours) I ended up catching a one and a half pound bass on a tiny crappie nibble. : Oh well, there still fun to catch.
  7. I dont know what to tell you except somtimes its out of your control. A few bass kept somtimes can benefit a fisherie anyway. Dont worry about it too much.
  8. This is a neat idea! I enjoyed reading the challenge results so far. Nice job getting this together!
  9. Yeah, thats the picture I was refering to KU. Thanks for posting it. The palm trees in the back supposedly identify the spot where the fish was wieghed. The fish was wieghed at the Helena post office and those trees are still there today. (according to the Bassmaster article) I had major doubts before I seen this, but now that I have a pic, there is not much to argue about anymore.
  10. There is now a picture of whats supposedley Perry's bass! It was in my bassmaster that I got today. I can't seem to find a pic to post yet, But it definetley looks 20lbs+.
  11. Pond-Pro replied to Brndcwby's topic in Bass Clubs
Even though there mag lacks a little bit, I am still a proud member of B.A.S.S.
  12. Definetley try some suspending jerkbaits over about 10 feet of water. If you dont get bit, heads out a little deaper and use a deap suspending jerkbait. Worked for me!
  13. Good idea, thanks!
  14. I think that its really quite hilarious how many posts this topic has provoked. ;D ;D And I dont think were done yet!
  15. Although I have caught bass on bluegill, I dont really like using live bait. By the way, welcome to the forum!
  16. According to what Weakley said, he just wanted to get the fish back in the water as soon as possible. As soon as he realized that he couldnt get away with foul hooking the fish, he just wanted to make sure it lives. I would want the scale he used to be tested to see if ii was accurate.
  17. Intresting points. I feal that Weakley really wanted the fish, and 1k wasnt much to him. I think many other people would have donet things they normally wouldnt do when placed in a situation like Weakley was. At least credit him for caring for the bass and releasing it as quick as possible.
  18. Great interview, thanks!
  19. Dont forget Mattlures! Hes famous too!
  20. Well one thing this proves is that largemouth bass can grow to over 22lbs. The pick of that fish was enough proof for me. I dont expect Perry's record to stand too much longer.
  21. Although I would love to see the record broken, I am glad that it did not fall to a foul hooked bass. In my opinion you should have to actualy get the fish to strike your lure for it to be considerd. I am glad that they released it and that its still out there swimming, and getting hungry.
  22. ;D Thats what I would do!
  23. Im not sure. A cold front could possibly make them go to the bottom. Also heavy fishing pressure.
