  1. Mike McClelland took the lead with 52-1. Hackney has the biggest bass so far today with a 7-1. There have been some big bags weighed in so far!! Should be pretty close.
  2. I would really like to see Martens or Fralick come up with about seven more pounds. Ike has definitely stepped it up today, but Skeet still has the best chance of winning it. This is going to be an awesome finish!!
  3. I'm in it to win it! BTW: Welcome to the forums basslove-em!
  4. Nice job! That had to be frustrating!! I just play the facebook version of Texas Hold'em and it drives me nuts sometimes. > I guess thats poker though! Congratz again on the high finish!
  5. That is funny!! ;D ;D Seriously though, we don't realize what all the mods have to go through to make this site what it is.
  6. As Firefightn mentioned, PRIME RIB rules! I like mine either medium or medium well. I am liking all this food talk lately.
  7. Wow; I feel very flattered to have my slogan chosen. I really was not sure if I had a chance after reading through all of the great ideas. I am just glad that I was able to contribute something to this site, since it has helped me out so many times. Congratulations to everyone who submitted an idea, and thank you Glenn for the generous prize package.
  8. Sorry to here about this. I lost a classmate and know how hard that is to go through. I will keep you, Morgans classmates, and her family in my prayers through this time.
  9. HA HA! Some of those are priceless!!
  10. "And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it." Your story illustrates this harsh reality. The world we live in is full of sin and corruption. Thankfully, this world does not have to be our home.
  11. Ha ha, your probably right! Overall though, low oil prices will eventually cause deflation. However, I'm not getting too excited yet because oil will probably start going back up in the new year. I hope not though!!
  12. Good luck, I will remember you and your wife in my prayers.
  13. There have been some good arguments on both sides of this issue. Although it may be difficult, we need to look at both sides and find the middle ground. Personally, I don't really care if someone's grammar or punctuation is not perfect. However, when it gets so bad that it is difficult to understand, it becomes a problem. Lets remember that the purpose of this forum is to help each other become better bass fishermen, and not to judge each others typing abilities or styles. no-what-im-sayyen!?
  14. That was pretty good! Some of those were great! ;D ;D ;D ;D
  15. At 120 bucks it is a little below your price range, but I really like my pflueger president+bps extreme combo. It has done great.
  16. Man what a thrill! Heres another pic:
  17. He's not nearly as big as some of the ones you guys have caught, but by my standards hes a monster. I was fishing a skitter pop this morning in my friends pond when this thing sucked it under. He put up an awesome fight, jumping three times. I caught him on the opposite side of the pond, even before I started working the bait. It was awesome. My friend said it is one of the biggest hes seen caught out of the pond. Ok, enough bragging, heres the pic:
  18. I'm glad to see your back!
  19. My dad has been fishing lake Erie recently and has been having some hook setting/sensitivity problems. He is fishing in 40 foot deep water using casting harnesses. The rod he currently uses is a 6' medium action bionic blade. He just switched to 8lb. braided line to help with hook setting. Does anyone have any experience fishing like this or does any one have any suggestions as to what rod, (action/length/make), would be best? Thanks.
  20. Bugman: Im not sure but I think the spawning is about over. We seen a bunch of empty beds. Nice pics by the way.
  21. I'm a newbie at this kinda thing but I think I might try it for a little while. Maybe I will get lucky.
  22. I really like the rapala skitter walk, it is an excellent walking bait. Bass_finatic described walking the dog fairly well; just lightly twitch the bait with your rod tip down. The lure will dart back and forth. Generally, you want to keep it moving. Once you try it a few times you will get the hang of it. Good luck!
  23. I would get the line and zoom finesse worms first. As far as color, I like green pumpkin. If you have to cut something out, you might not need quite so many straight tail worms. You can always cut trick worms down and use them for a variety of purposes. I can almost see the baitmonkey smiling.
  24. Yeah, a non resident PA license is like $61. They make you pay extra if you plan too fish lake Erie, whats up with that!? I think the price of non resident licenses is just ridiculous. You would think that they would lower the non resident cost in order to increase the number of visitors. :-/
