  1. The big one does seem to always get away doesnt it.
  2. Welcome! It sounds like you already know some things about bass fishing. You mentioned that you like to use senkos. That is a favorite bait of many others here too. I dont use trick worms much, but I do use the smaller version, the finnesse worm, a lot. I just seen Avid's post of a bass he caught on a trick worm. Also, don't worry about spelling, not many peepoles is perfect. And it is hard to read in all caps.
  3. That is interesting! That would have been cool to watch. As cigarlover mentioned, I bet they might have reacted to a mattlures bluegill.
  4. Weather changes can really effect small ponds. If there was a heavy rain prior to your last trip it could have caused the bass to shut down. Stay at it and you catch them.
  5. Check these out!! Mattlures baits are sweet!!
  6. Another vote for pflueger. (Shimano people are dominating! :) BTW, were up to 103 votes.
  7. I dont like when other people use my tackle, so i dont use theirs.
  8. As Bass_Akwards stated, it really depends on the conditions. Generaly topwaters and softplastics work well for me. Things to avoid while fishing a pond from the bank would be drop shotting, and deap crankbaits. Other than that, most everything will work under the right conditions. southbassfisher: You might want to try bouncing a shallow crankbait around any hard cover and see what happens. Good luck!
  9. Sounds great! Gotta love getting paid! That was a nice first paycheck! Mine was like $74. Well enjoy your new rod and real!!
  10. Great topic! My biggest fish is a 38 inch pike that i caught from Presque bay while bass fishing. He bit my flashminnow abd put up a great fight! The fish that I am most proud of... hmmm... Its got to be my personal best bass, a 5.3 lb. Smallie that came from the same place as my pike, on the same lure.
  11. I like the no net rule. It makes it a little more sporty, and adds action as the pro trys to land the fish. However, I wish they would be a littke more careful and not let the fish slam against the deck.
  12. Those are some nice bass! So, what was the new bait?
  13. Ok a carp's mouth is to small to eat a duck. Plus as LBH mentiond, carp are not carnivores. Are you sure it was a carp? That would be cool to witness somthing like that rbrick!! If the bass were keying on the "birds" (whatever they were) I can see how it would have been tough to catch them. I bet the hoverlure system might have worked.
  14. I always use a palomar knot, for mono and braid. I havent had any knot failures this way yet.
  15. Ok, fish eggs do not evaporate and rain down again.... come on! : : As far as the original question that is in the subject, I think that any body of water has the potential to support some type of fish life.
  16. ;D ;D A bigger tank would probably help, but the one you have should work. Good luck!!
  17. LOL!!!!! Thats great!! Nice job! ;D ;D [move] ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D[/move]
  18. Cool! Nice fish!
  19. Those catfish must have been really active!! I wouldnt totaly rule bass out after just one trip. :-/
  20. Im glad you feal free to share with us. Sorry about all your misfortunes. :'( "I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whense cometh my help" psalm 121:1 Keap on keaping on!!
  21. You nead to get a frog or rat bait that floats on top of the weads. Then when you get a strike, through your creature in there (pegged at the worm) and catch him! Good luck!!
  22. Oh man! That stinks! Hopefully they didn't all die...
  23. Don't worry about it!! The forums are made to be used!
