best Reel for Flippin and Pitchin
x2! I use a Revo STX-L with 20lbs of Trilene 100% and it gets the job done
-
Hope I get use to reeling left handed!
its all about comfort... if you don't feel comfortable using your left hand don't... I feel totally in control cranking my spinning and baitcasting reels with my left so that is what I do... I have used some friends RH stuff at times and it just feels weird.. so do what you are comfortable with and don't change anything if you don't have to..

best rod for fliping and pitching
I prefer a long rod... check out the archives and i'm sure you can find tons of info on them.. i like 7 1/2 -8ft rods for flippin and pitching... I have one of the Skeet rods for it and it does the job well

Keeping reels outside when its cold
if you are questioning it, bring them in! It wont hurt to have them in a nice warm house for the winter.. I'm sure you can make room for them in your house. I feel a lot more comfortable with mine in my bedroom then out freezing in the garage all winter.

Ardent Reels
I think the camo one coming out looks awesome.. I think they are bigger and bulkier than a Revo or Shimano.. They only make RH retrieve, So I would never try one ...

Spring Lures
in Very Early Spring or you could even call it late winter (Mid March) I have had tons of success throwin a shallow running Storm Wiggle Wart in a chartreuse color (0-1ft.) The smallies at my home lake love it!
-
Finesse Spining VS Casting
what is stopping you from stopping the lure with your hand the same way you do with a baitcaster? you won't have to catch up to your lure if you stop the line right before contact with the water..

Zoom Brush Hogs

i need a cheap but good allarounder baitcasting set up
I got a nice setup there last year. They usually have the Revo S paired with an Allstar Select for for around 150.. and you know dicks, they always have stuff on sale so im sure you could get one at close to you target price. The revo S is an awesome first reel! hardly any backlashes so it'll give you confidence

What do you fish with?? (another "show off your stuff" thread)
Here is some of the stuff i fish with. i've been bored over my christmas vacation so far, so i decided to take a couple pics.. 150+bags of plastics

Shimano Sienna 2500
thats what i was thinking.. I saw that they were a little cheaper and had 3 or 4 BB... I figured it would be a trustworthy bass reel and a good enough steelhead one.. I only go for steelhead like 2-3 times per year cuz its such a long trip (3.5hrs)... But I'll see how much i like it. I use an older abu garcia cardinal that i use now for a lot of spinning applications.. maybe i will use it for steelies and keep the sienna for primarily dropshot and splitshot
