  5. What are your top 2 plastic lures/ rigs for off shore summer patterns. Of those 2 mention color, lure weight and depth
  6. The rip rap along the dam in areas I fish have plenty of bottom. YMMV
  7. So if hard bottom is that big of a factor I should see rip rap areas loaded with bass. I dont
  8. My 4 year old lakemaster is terrible for toledo. Is a newer version a major upgrade? Using a helix
  9. My 4 year old lakemaster sd card is very poor on 2 of my top lakes. Do i need to buy a new one or can it be updated. Its a regional map for an helix
  10. What kind of electronics are you using
  11. I don’t have time to read 329 pages but let’s face it. Electronics has improved since this thread has started. Do you fish only graphed fish ? Why would you not? I don’t like how your images set . Can’t see any details
  12. With today’s electronics why not fish areas where fish are located on the graph instead of a hard bottom only
  13. 7 footer under $200. Fast tip. What do you like
  14. Old tennis shoes won’t cut it there Boulder size rocks. What’s popular, felt with spikes? No socks or neoprene? Talking summer only here. What brand\ model?
  15. To throw 1/8 oz lures on 8 pound line. Hate spinning set ups
  16. I just got back from fishing 6 mile today and yesterday. Tough for me. 5 fish total nothing over 2 pounds. Only my third time there Worked the grass from shoreline out to 18 feet. Back of coves and secondary points. Muddy water to stained water. T rig, c rig , senkos and spinnerbait. Where did I go wrong
  17. Suggestions for a low profile that fits in my hand nicely with extra line capacity
  18. Went to 6 mile for 5 days last week. First time on Toledo bend. Concentrated on grass points with boat in 14 feet of water. No quality fish. Only caught between 2 and 7 fish per day. All int he 4 to 5 foot range. All on Texas rigged worms and brush hogs. What didn't work.... Early morning top waters with jitterbug and Zara spook. Rattle traps and spinnerbaits where they are just hitting the top of the grass. Senkos on the edges of heavy hydrilla and in the holes back of creeks in 4 to 5 foot of water. For a first timer what did I do wrong Also how much wind can you handle while fishing Texas or Carolina rig effectively
  19. I have an urge to try fishing the rivers for them. Will be staying in eureka springs last week of June. Any advice on gear and tackle and tactics? Can I use a float tube, waders or fish from shore? Wouldn't mind hiring a guide for a half day ia addition. Guide recommendations
  20. what are your plans about conroe during summer this year and for future with no grass. do you still plan on putting as much time on the water as before or move on to other lakes?
  21. if say you locate a hump on your map, generally speaking how long will it take you to locate that specific hump with your electronics. take in account this is your first time looking for it. then using a navionics map if you have one will it cut down on the time spent searching for the same hump first time out? i realize its hard to put a time on all of them but generally speaking. i have a tough time locating structure with a 2D sonar having to have the boat directly over the structure. i am hoping a side image will drastically cut down on the time spent searching
  22. suppose to be able to add it to the new HDS. waiting on images t o compare to Hummiingbirds
  23. ok here goes 1. when fising in 15 foot structure during summer patterns what elements can change the pattern from one day to the next? i assume day to day weather changes, water clarity, temps are not an issue at that depth. so is forage and current generated the only changes? 2. using the hot maps versus using electronics and navionics what are the pros and cons to locating off shore structure? 3. how much emphasis on locating baitfish? i would think bass would only follow baitfish when actively feeding so early morining and evening when you would normally fish topwater are you doing so or still looking for off shore structure?
  24. can a newcomer like me to this thread go back to the summer patterns with questions or did i miss the boat
  25. not knowing what kind of structure i am looking at is a tough call when deciding to spend that money. so here is my issue. if worst comes to worst and i never get to the point where i know exactly what it is i am looking at most of the time i havent gained anything from going with a side image the way i see it. agree or not? however like i posted earlier the big advantage will come in with not having to have the boat directly over the structure to pick it up.
