High Speed reels?
I was just asking about High Speed reels to gain a little insight to what they are good for. I just know that high speeds take up slack faster so that could be beneficial to jig fishing. As for worms, Im not all that good at worming, I catch more fish on a drop shot worm than t-rigged(cant say that I have caught a t-rig fish yet either... only a t-rigged senko, I dont think that counts...). What would a high speed reel be good for then?

High Speed reels?
I have not used any high speed reels yet, the ones that I use currently are both 6.2:1, Im looking into a 2010 Revo SX thats 7.1:1, I have read that High Speeds in this ratio or higher are good for jigs and worms, is that what the general consensus is for reels in this ratio? Also, im hesitant to get a high speed because I feel that the regular 6:1 avg. ratios are more versatile, what are some of your thoughts on this?

Jig and Worm line?
Just curious what line do you all use for jigs and worming? Mono, Fluoro, Copoly? lb. test? I currently use Yo Zuri Hybrid 10#, Im beginning to feel that its too light for this application. Should I go straight fluoro in 12# or higher?

Follow-up Baits??
While on the topic of follow up baits, I just got my first jig bite today, two feet from shore it came unbuttoned. Do any of you follow up a missed jig bite? With what?

Got my first jig bite, lost the fish...
I was using a Booyah Baby Boo jig, pitching at a submerged christmas tree at my local city lake. Two or three shakes, bam fish on. Went to set the hook, brought it up to the surface and two feet in front of me it popped off. What do you do in a situation like that? Keep pitching the jig back, toss something else at the tree, or move on to a new spot? Also what are some of your jig fishing tips to keep the fish from throwing the jig? Thanks!

What conditions would the Firetiger color pattern be effective?
I was curious what types of lures you guys use in firetiger colors and when and where to use them. Also what is the firetiger pattern supposed to mimic? Thanks!

Favorite spinnerbailt trailer?? or do you use one??
I dont normally use trailers, I use either the skirts that have a built in trailer, or take an existing skirt and flip it the other way so the shorter strands umbrella out and the longer strands are under that trailing behind. If I use a trailer it would be a single tail grub tail up. One thing I never go without is a trailer hook, most of the bass that I have caught have been on that trailer hook.

Spro Little Johns... What colors for all around use?
Im interested in getting some Little Johns and not sure what colors to get. I think I want to get two total just to try them out. The areas I fish mainly are city lakes in Southern California if that helps. The colors im interested in are, Cell Mate, Spooky Shad, Clear Chartreuse, Nasty Shad and possibly Sunny Bream. Here is the link to tackle warehouse to check out: http://www.***.com/descpageSPROBAITS-SLJCB.html If you had to pick two out of the colors I mentioned which ones would you choose and why? Thanks!

Cheap Tungsten Weights ?????
I think the finish on the weights would actually attract bass because its somewhat reflective and it could look like a the worm or other soft plastic would look like its chasing a little fish or bug. As to the above post I think the OP was looking for a cheaper alternative, just like we all have asked about senkos and their rivals. Choke Canyon Boy, go ahead and try em out let us know what you think, for 7 bucks I would try them out. Actually I just might...

Spooky Shad colored crankbaits
What are the conditions that dictate whether or not to use this color. A lot of manufacturers have this color available. Has anyone used cranks or lipless cranks in this color with any success and in which conditions(clear, stained, muddy...) Thanks!

Is 8# Yo-Zuri for cranks, spinnerbaits too light?
Thanks for your advice, the cover is not that snaggy(I have learned by losing lures), its mostly small to medium sized branches, weeds and hydrilla , I fish a city lake that gets fished A LOT... I live in Orange County and havent made it out to any real lakes yet.

Is 8# Yo-Zuri for cranks, spinnerbaits too light?
Thanks for all the great answers so far, I actually tried it out today with a lipless and it worked fine. Hitchhiker, the spinnerbaits that I use range from 3/16oz-5/16oz, would these sizes of spinnerbaits work ok with 8# Yo-Zuri? What else would work with the setup I have (66MF) on 8#?

Is 8# Yo-Zuri for cranks, spinnerbaits too light?
I have a spool of 8# that doesn't get much use. Would it be detrimental to landing fish with with a baitcast reel? I would also be using this rod and reel for general purpose as well. I have a 6'6" MF vendetta and a Black Max(upgrading to a Revo SX soon). Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
