  1. Hey guys, I'm looking for more information regarding this company called N.S. Rods. I was wondering about the quality of their blanks and the performance of their rods. So if you any of you guys have used their rods, please reply to this thread. I'm asking about this because my brother recently purchased one of their rods online and I wanted to know more about them as their rods are quite nice in person.
  2. Hey guys, I don't know but I've been interested in buying bassresource clothing. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the bass resource sweater that I bought a long time ago from here and I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I know that you guys set up a bassresource clothing website right? But each time I go on there, I don't know what to do. I want to order some bassresource gear to show my pride, but I'm lost on the website. Please help me out.
  3. it's an awesome awesome rod especially in that price point. If you want longer length for those farther casts, get the 7'2" mhxf rod.
  4. if you're into finesse fishing, I would recommend the Roboworm 4" or 6" worm. Absolutely DEADLY!!!!
  5. the biggest difference between the regular 6" hudd and the 68 special is the extra kick in the tail. The 8" tail on the 68 special throws a lot of water and gives you the benefits of the 8" in a smaller size.
  6. My favorite spinnerbaits are the River2Sea Crystal Spin spinnerbait in all white with double willow leaf blade in white color, booyah spinnerbaits in white/chartruese. That's my go-to spinnerbait. Lastly, one of my favorite spinnerbaits is the Jackall Super Eruption spinnerbaits. This one just flat out catches fish any time of the year.
  7. if you want a great flourocarbon line, and I do stand behind it. Go check out Sunline FC Sniper. This line is soft and supple like seaguar invizx but more sensitive. Casts EXTREMELY well to the point where it's almost scary on spinning gear. The line doesn't have too much memory but then again, KVD line and lure conditioner will fix this issue if it ever arises. I use 5lb for all of my spinning gear needs and this line has held up exceptionally well. There are more sensitive flourocarbon lines out there, but in the case of spinning gear, this is by far the BEST line that I've used to date.
  8. i totally agree with you guys on this. Sunline is one of the best choices out there. Seaguar is pretty good also. However, I love the benefits afforded by sunline aka line managebility, smooth line lay, line diameter. It's an awesome choice and very hard to beat it especially when you get it for a discount.
  9. the reel does get a little hotter if you leave it out in the sun...however on cold days, the finish on that reel is cold and might be uncomfortable to use. But all in all one of the best reels out there.
  10. Here's my take for dropshotting from shore. I fish from both shore and a kayak so I actually know some benefits of being on a watercraft versus shore. The main difference between dropshotting from shore versus on a boat or something is that from shore you will fish a horizontal dropshot by either dragging it along the bottom or twitching the bait and working it back to you. On a boat, you can vertical dropshot for suspended fish better. You are also able to fish a horizontally if you wanted to also. I hope this helps.
  11. Here's my take on this...I believe it all has to do with confidence. if you have a lure like your huddleston and you give them gills then that to you probably makes you think that the bass might be more willing to bite it. Then what results from that is that you're more willing to throw the lures more. But imo I get the same number of bites regardless of the gills or what not.
  12. Senkos work all year long but it really shine in the winter for me.
  13. To me a cold front usually means to slow down or downsize your presentation. Being from california with clear water lakes, you get so accustomed to small, finesse baits to catch those finicky bass. I hope that helps.
  14. hey do you guys know how long it takes for orders to be shipped from Huddleston. I've ordered from them at the end of last week and have not receive my baits yet.
  15. Yes I'm also wanting an answer on this question. I'm looking at buying the Caballito or Blackfin Costa Del Mars, but didn't want to pull the trigger also. So anyone out there who can chime in on these glasses and how they fit on your face please do so.
  16. please be quiet and don't say anything else. There is a reason why many people don't mention this bait. Haha um this bait works wonders, dropshotting it can be deadly. There's so many ways you can fish this lure. The key to this bait is the offset tail of this lure that triggers bass to bite it.
  17. thanks for the heads up. Finally get to try the 68 huddlestons.
  18. I'm a big fan of the basstrix paddletails. They're kind of expensive and are not super duarble, but they work extremely well.
  19. Rapala countdowns are a phenomenal bait. They are my secret fall lures when the bass are keyed in on shad. It's an awesome bait and very simple to use.
  20. If you're looking at the Dobyns 795 rod, I suggest you get the mike long version. If I could only have one swimbait rod this is it. The tip on it is unbelievable. As for the reel you could get away with the cardiff 200A reel, but I would suggest upgrading to the 300 size in case you want to upgrade to throw bigger swimbaits and need the higher line capacity in the future. Anyways hope this helps.
  21. see that was the problem there. They blew up more than once. It was a tule patch and the bass would boil on the other side then boil to the right, then left, in the middle, etc. I threw everything I had and didn't even hook up into one at all.
  22. guys I'm sure it's bass. I saw it leap out of the water literally like how seals fly out when sharks hit them up in the air. That's why I'm so curious as how to catch them when this happens. I also saw massive boils like how Bassn Blvd described, but it's not the one that happened next to the tullie. Anyone else have any suggestions?
  23. hey guys I got a question I gotta ask you guys. Maybe someone can help chime on how to catch bass during this time. So I was fishing near some tullie patches and I see 4-lb bass jumping out of the water. They would do it constantly. I can't see what they are chasing or whatever, but they wouldn't take anything that I threw at them. I had senkos, flukes, topwaters, etc. and nada. So if anyone knows anything about this and how to catch bass when they're like this let me know okay.
  24. did you make sure to wet your knot before you cinch it down? I'm a big fan of yozuri hybrid and use it for almost every technique except for topwater. Knots I use are palomar, san diego jam, and the improved clinch knot. Never had a problem with the knot as long as you cinch it down. Hope this helps you.
  25. that's a nice smallmouth bass. Congrats on that topwater bite.
