  1. aw man excellent video
  2. one of my favorite jerkbaits is the daiwa db minnow. Very cheap as compared to a lucky craft pointer or the rapala xrap.
  3. here's my top 3: spinnerbait zoom super flukes swimbaits
  4. try out the owner snagless snaps. Here's the link to it on ***: http://www.***.com/Owner_Snagless_Snap/descpage-OSS.html it works very well. And it's super sturdy.
  5. pitch a mattlures U2 bluegill in the open gaps in those and either swim it or drag it like a football jig.
  6. nice fish you caught there.
  7. I love using basstrix swimbaits. The best paddletail swimbaits ever. I use a 4/0 weighted swimbait hook for the 5" version. I find that the heavier weights you use, the better you can control the depth the swimbait is swimming at. Hope it helps. Also, get yourself a pack of mend-it soft bait glue. I guarantee that you will need it.
  8. d**n i missed a big one today greg....i yanked the swimbait out of its mouth...man I was ticked. Anyways ended up with one bass about a pound and a half to two pounds. Can't post up pics cuz it's on my pathetic phone.
  9. good job greg. You wanna go fishing at eldo tomorrow? I'm going if anyone is interested.
  10. yea...it's best you stick with something else. I would suggest a used shimano cumara for around that price range. Look for it in our flea market, or hop on a powell, dobyns or pinnacle rod.
  11. I have. I used the 7'medium heavy rod. I really didn't like the rod. It's not too heavy, but it feels uncomfortable fishing that rod. The handle felt too short so I couldn't get a long cast. The one thing that I found the rod exceled at was spinnerbait fishing. It had a nice tip to it for spinnerbaits, but I already have a spinnerbait rod, my GLoomis SBR812 rod. Another thing regarding cosmetics was that the guides weren't even aligned properly. I used to wrap custom rods, and I can tell the workmanship of this rod is not good. Well it's just my opinion anyways, hope it helps you in your decision making.
  12. omg wow that's a huge belly on that bass you got there. Anyways I think I need more spinnerbaits and jigs. Can't wait to put my order in.
  13. why did you just buy a calcutta? Those are imo the finest round reels you can have. Built like tanks.
  14. wow...puts my premier reel to shame. lol
  15. My suggestion would be to stay as far away as you can without losing sight of the fish. Then pitch in a bright colored lure like a white jig, or pink senko. When bed fishing, your job is to annoy the bass enough to make it bite your lure when it's ticked off. One thing to keep in mind is to always have your hook exposed so that it makes hooking the bass that much easier.
  16. I would go with the basstrix swimbaits. Durability is okay, but man do these babies catch bass or what.
  17. Throw a watermelon/black or green pumpkin/blake flake senko.
  18. Strike King rage tail Baby craw or the regular craw. Don't know what it is, but the bass hammer this lure.
  19. The pixy's frame is a hair smaller than the daiwa sol. The sol is actually the same exact frame as the daiwa alphas. The difference between the two is the front plate on the reel. The pixy doesn't have a sharp triangle like shape for the front plate, instead it is straight. It is a really good reel and there really isn't any difference between the pixy models, it's just the colors.
  20. Throw a texas rigged senko or fat ika weightless. This is deadly on these small ponds. Colors I would choose are watermelon/black flake, green pumpkin/blake flake, and watermelon candy.
  21. I actually think this line is very good. I hated the old vicious flourocarbon line. This one is very good. I am currently using it in 8lb and 12lb test and I really like it. It obviously has memory but not more than berkley trilene 100% flourocarbon. It casts very well and has really good knot strength. I still have yet to break a knot with this line. Plus it's comparatively cheap also compared to other lines.
  22. you can do anything with the fat ikas. My favorite way is to texas rig them upside down with the tentacles on the line tie. This and the senko are basically do anything baits. They will catch fish.
  23. Throw a weightless fluke or sluggo type lure. That would be your best bet. I would suggest if you wanted to, throw a crankbait that will barely tick the tops of the grass.
  24. I think it's your hookset. You probably didn't set the hook hard enough to make it pierce her lip. You know what here's a better explanation on youtube by Greg Hackney:
  25. look for a used dobyns champion rod. It usually goes for $170 or somewhere in that range. The champion rods are way better than the saavy and the avids.
