there is no right or wrong way. It's all personal preference. For me I like to hold with my index finger above the trigger the rest of my fingers below. I also like to rest my thumb on the left sideplate of my reel.

I use a 6'6" shikari custom rod that is medium power, fast action. I paired it up with a curado E7 for all my topwater, jerkbait, and finesse baits.

Cal's drag grease is the best grease I believe. As for oil go with yellow rocket fuel. you can find them online for cheap, try ebay.

rapala DT cranks are very good, they catch a good amount of fish for me, but the only problem that I have is the bill breaking off on the crankbait. It doesn't always happens, but when it does it ticks you off. Now on to the action, it works very good and I think people forget to use the triggering method that only the rapala DT can do. As you're reeling in the line stop and give it a twitch and stop reeling. This causes the crankbait to do a 180 turn. This has triggered a good amount of bass into commiting to my bait

hey another question. How light of a lure can I cast on this reel?

hey guys I accidentally broke the tip on my dobyns champion 733CSH rod. So can someone explain dobyns warranty to me? Since I don't have the receipt for the rod, what can I do? I'm not thinking about using their expeditor service yet if there is a way to get a replacement rod. Any help would be appreciated.

hey guys I'm been eyeing the carbonlite reel for quite some time now. I still haven't pulled the trigger to buy one because I don't know how it will perform. For those who have this reel give me your honest insight as to how it performs. I like it's design, I mean it looks better than all the bass pro reels, but the key question is will it hold up to bass fishing. Let me know alright.

the answer is yes you can use the sharpie, but it's not permanent. I like to use it on my zoom flukes to give it a touch up.

get the invizx, it works magical for spinning reels. Casts great, has good abrasion resistance, and isn't as stiff as most flourocarbon lines.

yes about the anaconda I do wait for the fish to take it. Usually after that first 3 bumps and you don't set the hook then the fish is gone, but I guess I'll just have to toy with that. Can I use like Mend-It to glue the anaconda back together? As for the eeliminator i guess I'll have to carolina rig it. I've tried all types of topwater retrieves, slow to a fast burn up top, but no such luck. I've even swam it subsurface and still no hits. I guess I'll carolina rig it and see what happens. Oh by the way I almost caught a carp on the anaconda in bama craw. The water was very clear and I saw the carp come up and looked at my bait and then smacked it. I didn't want to set the hook as a carp is not what I'm after, but it boosted my confidence in the rage tail baits.

i think it's a case of personal preference as a split grip rod looks very nice. But performance wise it makes your rod lighter having a split grip, but it's all about balance to me.

I don't whip the lures out there. I fish from shore and so I only pitch them. I always check my lure before every cast. Anyways I lose the tail on the hookset. The bass hits it bump bump bump and I set the hook. I miss the fish and after reeling it in the tail section is gone. How can I repair this? As for the eeliminator I will try to use a carolina rig, but I'm not a big fan of it. I slowly reel it on top to get the full action of the tail and body. I reel it fast sometimes as well to get that loud kind of buzz bait noise and it shocks me how loud this is. Anyways is it the color that I'm using or what? My favorite color at this moment is the bama craw. It works better than green pumpkin or anyother color. I've caught bass in both ultra ultra clear water and dirty water.

Hey guys I just wanna say that it was a great investment in buying these new rage tail lures. At first I thought it was a gimmick but on the few outings that I have used these lures I have never had so many bites. Right now the anaconda and the smokin' rooster are what the bass want. Some of the hits are bone jarring, and some are the usual thump, thump, thump. Anyways I still can't get any bass to commit to the eeliminator. What can I do? I'm fishing it on top and I'm using the white color. Give me some tips on how to increase my confidence in this lure because I truly believe in the fish catching ability of the anaconda and the rooster. Anyways these baits are horrible when it comes to durability. My anaconda keeps losing the tail somehow. What can I do to fix that?

I love my G Loomis SBR812 spinnerbait rod. It's soft enough to cast light spinnerbaits and that extra fast tip allows me to accurately cast my spinnerbaits into the tightest of cover.
