Any Curado E50 owners here?
if you buy one don't forget to clean off the excess grease that shimano puts on their reels. Clean the bearings and re-oil them and I promise you that you will truly love this reel.

Revo S Vs. Patriarch
I for one would go ahead and buy the patriarch reel. The revo S is a good reel but I don't think it can compare to the smoothness and casting performance of the patriarch. Anyways just my .02

Lite line baitcast reel
if you have the money for it I would highly suggest a Daiwa Pixy reel. This is the ultimate lite line reel. I have mine spooled with 4lb berkley trilene 100% flourocarbon line. I don't have any problems with casting anylure period.

White jig on beds, Trailer or not?
same thing happens to me too. I was throwing a bluegill colored jig with a rage chunk and the bedding bass kept biting off the claws. So I switched to a wacky rigged senko and man does it work.

How light can you go on a BC?
Get yourself a pixy reel and you'll see just how light you can go. Casting distance as opposed to spinning reels but if you're like me and don't like to use spinning outfits then buy a pixy and throw any weight you want without fear of backlashing at all. I have one of my pixy spooled up with 6lb berkley trilene 100% flourocarbon.

Anyone used Stren Fluorocast?
I am in total agreement with everyone above that stren flourocast is a worthy flourocarbon line. For the price it can't be beat. I am using 10lb and 15lb right now at the moment and it feels really good. It's stiff but to me there is no stiffer flourocarbon line than berkley triline 100% flourocarbon. Buy a few and try them out yourselves, they're a good investment.

bass pro shops wreak-n-bug
hey I'm looking for everyone's opinion on this bait. Looks weird to me and I think that's why it will catch bass. This will definitely give them a new look. Did anyone try them yet? If so, how did you like it as far as action wise and durability.

B&R Outlaw Rods
their rods are okay for the price but I would suggest trying out other brands like pinnacle's new perfecta rod series or the shimano crucial rods. First of all the guides on the rods are not even perfectly straight. The blank is very thin, much thinner than blanks of similar power. I have their 7' mh rod rated for 3/8-1 1/2oz and it doesn't feel like it can handle that weight. But if you're interested in buying one, pm me and I"ll give you a good deal on this rod to try out.

Tip for soft swimbaits!
great tips right here. I never knew that.

Moveing to Shimano Crucial or Cumara? Have you got one/do you like it?
I don't agree with the some of the above posts at all. I myself have owned both the crucial and cumara rods, but imo the cumaras are way better. They balance nicely with pretty much any reel of your choosing. I have mine paired with a daiwa alphas-ito reel and it looks so beautiful. As far as technique specific, I use the 6'8' mh xfast and fast action rods for both treble lures and soft plastics. They were made to be techinque specific, but to me you can use anyone of their models for whatever technique you want. As far as sensitivity goes, the cumara is way more sensitive than the crucial rods will ever be. Now I just need to get the cumulus.

where do I get one?
hey guys I want to clean one of my daiwa sol reels and I'm wondering how do I take off the bearing on the side of the spool that has the little pin through it. I heard there are some tools that can do so without harming the pin and I wonder if anyone can help me with this?

Swimbaits!
check out a dobyns champion mike long swimbait rod. I would suggest you get the 7'9" MLSB rod. It casts pretty much any swimbait 5oz and below beautifully. Anything more than that and you're pushing it, but it's doable.

Big Or Small For Winter Largemouth?
I'll be the first to say post so I would go big first of all. An 8" huddleston trout swimbait would be my first choice. If a cold front has passed through then I'll downsize to smaller lures, but a swimbait is usually what I would throw.

Matt Lures Hard Bass...
the floater swims exactly like its name states. I really like it for clear water situations. I almost always cast it as near to cover as possible. I like to slowly reel in the bait and it just barely makes a wake in the water. The limitations of the floater is that you can't fish it below the surface. But hey it looks so real, why would you want it to be underneath the water anyways. ;D

El Dorado Park in Long Beach
I finally have success at El Dorado. It happened on Sunday when we went to El Dorado. It was my cousin, little brother, and I. Man the freaking weather is hot. Went early, got to the lake around 8 and started at the ranger station. Water is very very low, and dirty. Threw everything from swimbaits to jigs to spinnerbaits and crankbaits, nada. Went around the lake and casted a jackall cover craw on 6lb test towards the tullies and slowly dragged it back. Got the familiar tap tap tap, set the hook and got this lovely baby: Kept casting in the same spot and didn't get a bass to bite. Then tied on my lucky booyah spinnerbait and very first cast into the same area and on the retrieve another bass hit my lure. Overall it was a fun day. El Dorado is a very hard place to fish especially now with the hot weather. But I bet the swimbait bite should be picking up soon and those big bass might want to come out and play. Until then keep at it my fellow El Doradoers.

Leaving drag star loose in storage...
yes you should.

Did Shimano ever make any "clunker" reels??
the curado E is a very versatile reel. I've used it in offshore fishing for mackeral, bonito, sandbass, etc and it's never let me down. The drag is exceptionally smooth. Just make sure you're using the E5 and not the E7 reel.

Japanese Bass fishing techniques
Seiji Kato was created more than the flick shake lures and such, he was the inventor of the daiwa minnow jerkbait and the lucky craft pointer. Two lures that we don't think much about. Japanese lures just like any other lures have their place and time. My preference is any lure as long as I LIKE IT ;D
