  1. it has a decent swimming action, but man it's not durable at all. Trust me that guarantee of 22 bass is a joke. Don't bother with wasting your money on this swimbait.
  2. if you're fishing spinnerbaits why do you have to overhand cast? Just wondering
  3. what? that's weird. I don't have that problem with any of my reels.
  4. the GLoomis spinnerbait SBR812 is an excellent spinnerbait rod. I paired it up with a shimano citica and man is this a great combo. The extra fast tips greatly increased my accuracy when casting into tight cover or pockets. It's a great rod and you can feel the spinnerbait blades spinning as you're reeling it in.
  5. yes you can. The ultra soft has less memory than the regular hybrid, that's all. That's why it was designed for spinning reels, but you can obviously use it on baitcasting. I like the 12lb
  6. why don't you try ripping a frog on top of those lily pads. There's no lily pads where I fish, but guys are always using frogs in lily pads, so give it a shot.
  7. that's a sick rod you have there.
  8. nice. Be sure to post pictures of the hawgs that you catch on them. ;D
  9. I like using zoom twin tail grubs. It has a lot of action.
  10. the strike king shim-E-sticks work okay. They don't replace the senko though in my opinion. I throw mine on a gamakatsu EWG 4/0 hook weightless
  11. here's the reason why the GLX rods are so expensive. The graphite used in the GLX rods are high density graphite and therefore takes less material to make the rod while lower rod models use a lower density graphite in the rod's construction. There is a tradeoff for sensitivity versus durability between high modulus rods versus low modulus rods. That's why the GLX series is so expensive.
  12. curado E7 is the way to go. It's well worth the money and you can find one for cheap in the flea market.
  13. 12 and 15 lb test should be all you use unless you're going to fish in really heavy cover, then opt for 17 or 20 lb test. Berkley big game is a very good mono.
  14. WOW your wife supports you? man you're onto something good then.
  15. yea I was going to do that, but I decided to try to fix the reel myself. I put everything back together exactly as I took out the parts, but I don't know anymore. I'll probably pm mudkart to help me with this.
  16. yes go with the majority rule: CURADO. You're going to love that reel.
  17. no one can help me. Aw man this sucks. :'(
  18. seaguar is all I use. It's kind of expensive, but now as expensive as tatsu or braided line right?
  19. Hey guys I got a problem with my cardiff 300 reel. I cleaned out everything and put everything back in and it is smooth like silk, but whenever I turn the handle it makes a sort of low screeching, like grinding noise. I don't know what is wrong so any help would be appreciated.
  20. weightless they should be around 3/8, and then you can add weight to make them go deeper if you like.
  21. the citica 200E is a great all purpose reel, but if you have enough money opt for the curado E
  22. get some rapala DT6 and DT10 cranbaits. I like their bluegill, bass, and shad patterns as well as the crawfish ones.
  23. yes the citica isn't really meant for weightless plastics and light baits. The curado is the one for that matter. As for the saros it's a really good reel, you won't go wrong if you have one. Get the 2500 size since you're fishing for bass, or you could opt for the stradic CI4 which is by the far the lightest spinning reel you'll be holding in your hands.
  24. no stick with baitcasting gear trust me. Just keep doing what you're doing. Sometimes change up your retrieve. Burn the swimbaits sometimes, or give it a few jerks in your retrieve. They're very versatile baits.
  25. I like netbait's paca chunk
