  1. I pull trailers of all kinds rv, horse trailer, boat, etc. People have no courtesy whatsoever, I guess because they have never pulled one themselves. What is worse is people pulling out in front of you too close. I guess they don't want to get stuck behind you. Then if they are behind you, they spend the whole time on your butt trying to get around you. Annoying.
  2. LOL, yeah I've lived here for 4 yrs, never ran into the guy. Thanks for the ideas!
  3. Anyone have a good idea on mounting a regular transducer to your trolling motor without buying the adapter kit? Looks like it has one "special" plastic piece and a big hose clamp and some zip ties.
  4. Howdy, don't worry about silly questions, ask 'em! There are alot of knowledgeable people on here (not me, but others).
  5. Howdy!
  6. Welcome!
  7. Good job! I have made myself use the jig this summer also. I don't quite have the confidence in it that you do yet. I have had some days of great success, others not so great. I think that is just part of it though, there are days when something else will work better. So I guess that is why we should learn to use a variety of lures.
  8. That's a day to remember right there!
  9. It depends on the size of the body of water. It 's a matter of proportions, a lot of manure in a small body of water can kill the fish in a matter of days, as it decomposes causes oxygen depravation and the fish die due to the lack of oxygen. Sure manure ( cow, horse, goat, sheep, swine, chicken ) can and is used as pond fertilizer but there 's certain amount you can use depending on the type of manure ( X lbs per square ft ) and every certain times at every certain schedule. How good is manure as fertilizer, great in the right proportions. You can in certain cases and places see the benefits of that kind of fertilization. For example, a couple of hours drive from my home town there 's this town called Tepatitlán, not far from Tepa there are two lakes about the same size, both have the same species of fish: tilapia, carp, minnows, bluegills and bass; one grows monster size fish the other one doesn 't, the difference between both is not in the gene pool but in the environmental conditions, the one that grows moster fish is surrounded by chicken and swine farms, the other one isn 't, the manure piles are just there outside the farm houses, so when it rains manure runs into the lake fertilizing it ---> lots of plankton = lots of food. I agree, that is what I was trying to say. It would take a high concentration in proportion to the body of water. Too much of anything is bad. Every environment requires balance.
  10. It would take a lot of run off to kill fish. To have much affect at all the cattle would have to be in a confined area, like a feedlot, and then not have much surface area between the confinement and the body of water. If they are just loose in a pasture it would be so scattered, that I wouldn't think there would be much concentration in the run off from a rain. As far as chemicals, I would think that a Golf Course has as much or more chemicals per acre than a farmer's field and there are multiple posts on here about how good the fishing is at golf course ponds. Just my opinion.
  11. That's kind of how my stories go!
  12. Sometimes it is just as much fun to have a buddy catch one! Good job!
  13. nice, good job
  14. I tried it, and it really is the toughest stuff in the world. I found it almost impossible to manage on the reel though.
  15. This may be a non-issue for some, but I prefer a shorter handled rod for spinner baits. I don't know if it is because I have short arms, but when I try to do a roll cast with a long handle it bumps me in the forearm. Long overhand casts make no difference.
  16. Congrats, that is a nice bass no matter the weight. That might be a conservative estimate - going from the picture. There are a lot of people who fish their whole lives and don't catch one like that.
  17. Thanks guys, I know I will have a lot of fun in it. I may have as much fun just riding around in the boat as I do fishing (for a while anyway). Oh and Southflbass- Stay away - lol.
