  1. USCG rating plate is riveted to the inside of your boat some where. It gives max person and weight load limits. Your trailer also had a plate attatched to the tongue of the trailer giving you load/weight rating and tire size and tire pressure inflation info. Its the law for these plates to be on the boat and trailer. Matt.
  2. You better use any method you can. There are days that wind makes it harder to line watch, or feel, you use both. Matt
  3. Ya'll SEC boys kinda of get touchy when it come to ya'lls football. I like that kind of school spirit!!!!! Ya'll Hookem, Matt
  4. Help!!! Was "Please Release Me" a sponsor at one time? I thought we had a livewell additive add at one time. I'm running short and need some. matt
  5. Koi is a japanesse grass carp that was introduced to certain lakes to control vegitation. I think koi are supposed to be sterile and won't reproduce. If you google Koi or grass carp, you will get plenty of reading material. Matt
  6. George, Rolo, and anyone else. Fork is a resorvoir made up of 100's of creeks, Not really much current as some other lakes generate from time to time, no river into said lake. Gates being open is a rareity, how should this effect our bass that arent accustomed to this much current. Matt
  7. Bass seem to have lock jaw with the gates opened on Fork, some are catching them, but numbers are down. Matt
  8. Live threadfin or gizzard shad. A carolina rig which is a live bait rig! Matt
  9. Summer months means big worms, 10-18 inch. I love throwing the big worm. Topwater will always be my favorite. Any type of top water that draws a strike is okay by me. Matt
  10. "IF" bass are primarily looking up, would you consider the most important color on the crank to be the belly? Most belly colors are some shade of white. Consider a top water. Any thoughts? Matt
  11. If the top of the water column isn't producing, you might try a 1/4-1/2 white jig. Swim the jig through the pads, this has been a good producer of better bass this year. The lighter weight helps the jigs roll off the pads easier. 65 lb briad is reommended. Matt
  12. Welcome to the Forum GENO. Matt
  13. Denny is a ICON of the Sport. The man should have energizer has a sponsor, he keeps on going. I'm glad your son and family got to meet him. Too cool. Matt
  14. In lots of parts of Texas, we are seeing gates open on lots of lakes and resorvoirs. Major flooding!!!!! There are species of bass that always turn on when certain lakes generate. It is my observation on F-1's that they don't care for current very much. Is that because they (F-1's) aren't used to the current in Texas. I know all lakes have some type of current, just not like this on the norm. What do you think the bass are doing with all this current that they aren't used to? Matt
  15. I some times like to Gamble, and this is one of those times young Vols fan. I say young because you mentioned Mike Price, Either you have forgotten about Bear Bryant and the Tide, or your too young to know any better. I'm betting on the later. Too young to know any better. Not trying to insult you either. Just an observation and opinion of my part. How many titles has Mike Price won? Hookem Matt
  16. Since you had the back of the boat, and a good look at my motor, I was sure you'd have commented on football. Team Hookem!!!!! I havent' even looked at UT's schedule this year, I know we travel to Ohio State early this year. So our season could start the way it did last season with early loss. I knew with the loss of Vince and others, beating OSU, even at home would be tall order. I get to see if our sophmore QB is seasoned enough to make UT contender, not too mention that our secondary was SWISS CHEESE last year. Once teams learned they could pass on Texas, they did, and very often. NFL Hall of Fame Game is less than a month away, so that mean NCAAF isn't far away either. Can't wait!!!!!! NCAAF is one of the puriest games played. Hookem Matt.
  17. Welcome aboard from NE Texas. I didn't catch all the Trolling motor talk, but did get worried that we may have a Mook in Texas. Any Trolling motor problems may be directed to the PRO STAFF, and that would be the Mud Man. LOL Matt
  18. I am curious to know if you actually saw bait flying out of the water. Fish that are pushing shad or baitfish to the surface normally come flying out of the water. If active fish are feeding on surface, usually any small baits that mimics the forage gets bit. Matt
  19. Some great thought provoking replies. Thanks Matt
  20. Anyone notice that strikes that occur at the boat when you are just about to lift the crank out of the water and a bass attacks from below, it seems the back hook is the one to catch it. Maybe its just coincedence lately on that observation. Please, when you are cranking in the future, and have a bass that comes up to hit it, try to make mental note of which hook or hooks the bass was caught on. The reason I use that example is, its the only time I know for sure a bass came up to hit it other than top water. Matt
  21. Sounds like you have a good starting plan already. If you use a crank, try to match the bait to the conditions. IE.....a floating crank backs out of rocks easier when snagged than a suspending crank. Balsa baits deflects of wood better and so on. Matt
  22. I did not see the html on Martens. If you run the tag line back through the eye, its supposed to keep the hook standing out. Matt
  23. If fishing open water, deep to be exact. If you are fishing in open water say 30 feet deep, and you are running a crank bait down to say 15ft, heres my question. Can you tell if a bass came from above the bait or below the bait by the way he hooks him self? Graph shows fish at depths above and below at times. Is there any way we can conclude which fish is striking? Matt
  24. First off, Welcome to the forum. You might try some scented plastics or salted plastics or add some spray on scents to get them to hold the bait a little longer. Matt.
  25. I wished I knew how to post multiple pictures.
