Loxahatchee/Everglades 2-20-11
Dan from JD'sCustomBaits and I hit Lox this morning looking for the "One". We were field testing his new "Tree Frog" color combination. Missed a stinking pig right off the bat...just plain wiffed it. But quickly picked up these two 6.5's. Dan followed up with another 6+. All together we had 7 bass. Can't say enough good things about his frog...

Markham Park/Everglades Bass 2-17-11
This mama was laid up in some matted grass on the west side of Markham Park. Took a JD's Custom Bait hand poured frog on a 7/0 hook. I was actually killing snakeheads and this fish was a surprise. Picked up 2 snakeheads in the 8# range and a few dink bass as well.

Jig Worm Is This a Lost Art?
I still use a jig head with a worm occasionally. Had one of my clients jigging a worm earlier this week. Used a 1/8 round jig head with hook exposed and a curly tailed worm.

Anybody up for Okeechobee this week?
Anybody have a seat open for Okeechobee this week? I've got most of the week open and have never been to the Big "O". I have boat and willing to take it, but again I'am not familiar with the lake. I'll probably go whether anybody goes with me but figured it would be more fun to go with another another angler. Holler if you interested. Shane

When's the last time you replaced your bow strap / clip ???
Just changed mine 2 weeks ago. It is the third strap in 5 years. If I see wear I change it out. For less than $20 its cheap indsurance.

Rod or Reel?
I would drop my biggest buck on a nicer reel. I can always get by with an inferior rod.

Just bought a E21 carrot stix. Should I like it?
My Bass Pro Shops has discontinued them. That tells me they aren't to happy with them either...... But they are sensative.

Just bought a E21 carrot stix. Should I like it?
I broke 3 out of 4 in the last 7 months. All have been replaced. Keep the receipt and register the rod with E21 online or by mail. I do like the sensativity of the rods.

Me and the little lady managed a couple dozen....all in 2-3 range. She was woopin my arse till I maned up and started throwing a senko like her Beautiful day on the water. Tomorrow I'll be fishing Holiday Park. Looking for something in the L-XL category. ;D

Big Cypress and L67-A. February 1 & 3
Tuesday I made my way into the Big Cypress for a couple of hours to see if I was going to be able to get the boat in. I just barely got the Gheenoe over the rocks. Definately the last trip untill the summer rains show up. Picked up a dozen on rubber frogs and plastic worms. Not bad for 2 hours this time of the year. Thursday I ran the L67-A off of Tamiami Trail. I ran in 12 miles and started with a small curly tail swim bait. Picked up 2 in 3 cast. Got one on a rattle trap pretty quick but my back seater(wife) was spanking me pretty hard with a Senko. I finally gave in and fished the next hour with a senko. Finished the 3 hour trip with 2 dozen, most in the 2-3# range. Tomorrow I'll be fishing Holiday Park.
