  1. I only bust out the senko when nothing else is producing because it is just not as much fun to fish as the other presentations. I also try to avoid tubes and flukes
  2. Jackal Flickshake hands down. Rig it with a wacky jighead like they sell and twitch the slack so that your not actually bringing the lure forward but making the weighted head swing up and down like a pendulum. The worm twists and squirms with incredible action. If you can afford to lose a few more worms but you want more fish, rig the worm at a 90 degree angle. That is, push the point of the hook through the side of the worm, and bring it straight up through the top. The action is ridiculous
  3. Was it the huddleston hudddlebug?
  4. Essentially almost everything. Thats a pretty wide spectrum. Excluding of course big swimbaits, flipping, frogs, crankbaits, etc, the more specialized stuff
  5. Definately, you can really launch them with a gammakatsu 5/0 EWG superline hook. If on the retrieve water doesnt splash over and in front of the bait, rerig until it does. Love these things
  6. Youd be surprised. A 4 pound trout will give you a much more exhilarating drag screaming fight than any largemouth of similar size.
  7. Ive had mine for years since it was over $200 and now that its at $99 its a no brainer. You probably wouldnt want to take the twitching bar out even if you could. Theres no real point. Its most useful if your pitching or something and need to engage he reel quickly without fubling around. Also to pick up slack before setting the hook or if your a little preoccupied with something else. It also gives a perfect hop to jigs.
  8. Thats made by tylure isnt it? I think they wanted it to have the action of a buzbait with the prop but the ability to kill it and let it float.
  9. I wouldnt screw with any foreign substances in the internals of a ci4 for fear of major problems but maybe thats just me
  10. Yep, the excel rod is around half the price but uses the same blank as the SR705R. Also no foregrip, a splitgrip, and american tackle guides instead of fuji.
  11. I'd also definately take fuji guides over berkley no question
  12. Theyre not worth $2.50 a hook. The shrink tube slips and according to brokeju, who is very credible, he haf the points bent on hooksets, rendering the useless. That hasnt happened to me since ive only used them a few times. Paycheck baits' punching hooks seem pretty good. They have a welded eye for braid and are made by gamakatsu. I think the design was originally from reaction innovations
  13. I have a spinning compre and have no complaints. Good rod
  14. Definately not the loomis. In your price range I've heard alot of chatter about the falcon bucoos. I've never used one so I don't know. There are also plenty of other companies that have come out with rods to compete in the $100 market so look around and evaluate your options.
  15. Beat me to it. On a fast action rod, the bend is mostly at the tip. Snap that portion off and your left with a medium or slow action rod
  16. Haha, i googled them up and asthetically they're very nice.
  17. Not true. What if I bought the rod next week? I won't see soft water for months. This happens all the time; rods can be had at deep discounts this time of year. What if I purchase one, and set it safely in a rod wrack for several months until ice-out. Let's say I go out with the rod for the first time in May, and it snaps in two on a hookset. Now where is my warranty? I see thirty days as an insult. I was thinking of that too. Just wait to buy one in the spring.
  18. I know what you mean. Ive broken my fair share of high $ rods that cost $20 to replace but they were my own fault. If i got a z bone id treat it like a baby with utmost responsibility. Im much more careful with my rods than most people and the only way i think itd get broken would be transportation. I have a rod tube
  19. And you could flip the same distance with line wrapped around a tin can...
  20. The warranty is for 30 days. I know, i know, all that money and it all goes out the window at the first accident but in reality, any problems with the integrity of the rod would present themselves in that period of time, These z bones are also, i believe, Kistlers only rods that are actually crafted here in the US and rigorously inspected and quality checked throughout the whole process and before they are ever shipped.
  21. Anyone tried them? Are they better than, say, a glx?
  22. The show off your stuff thread carbon handles and cork knobs are mainly for aesthetics but yes, they do decrease weight as well. Swept handles (where they're kinds bent inward) can provide easier cranking and less wobble.
  23. Skinny Bear Shad Eye 2 http://www.***.com/descpageSOFTSKINNY-SBSET.html#pImage For the roboworms, aarons magic is a color offered in several different styles of their plastics
  24. Why would they drop such a successful branch of products for fear of Gary competing in the $100 rod market that G Loomis doesn't touch?
  25. Have you tried a punch rig with a 1.5 oz tungsten weight, heavy braid, stopper, skirt, snelled flipping hook and trailer? Bub tosh has some god intructional videos on youtube that are worth checking out
