  1. I live in the Shenandoah Valley. The main food source for bass around here is bluegill. We also have crayfish, sunnies, crappie in some areas, trout in some areas, frogs, shad in the bigger lakes, blue back herrings, etc. It really depends on what body of water you are on in this area.
  2. I want to start doing more smallmouth fishing. I don't know of many places to fish for them other than Smith Mtn lake, Shenandoah River, and Lake Moomaw. I don't get to go to Smith but once or twice a year, and Moomaw two or three times a year. what are some other great places to catch smallies, and what techniques work the best?
  3. I have been to Lake Albemarle once. Plan on going back a few times this year. Rained almost the entire time we were there. I cought 3, and the other 2 people I was with caught a total of 5. Lost more lures there that day, than I did any other two days combined. Has a ton of cover.
  4. Huskey Jerk, H-J 12 or 14. Oh yeah, I forgot the best top water lure on the market, IMO, the skitter walk in bluegill.
  5. A fish doesn't get to be huge by not being smart. She as seen everything, and has been educated over the years of her life. She knows what is real and what is fake, therefore, using live bait makes a difference because the huge fish knows that your live bait is real food. That is the advantage of using live bait.
  6. First of all, whoever say Shanahan isn't a good coach is the one who is smoking something. Second, if you give Jason Campbell an O line, I'm sure he would be a fine QB. Third, the NFL is probably going to have an uncapped salary year, and we all know Snyder isn't afraid to spend some money. I truly believe that the Redskins will have a MUCH better season next year.
  7. Thats a simple one, a top 5 opponent. And Pond Hopper, great quote.
  8. If you feel really confident with that response, than next time you and a buddy go fishing, put a bet on who will catch the most fish. You use artificial and let the other person use live bait. At the end of the day, YOU WILL be paying the other person money. I say this because I have fished side by side people that have very little fishing experience using live bait while I throw artificial. In every case I was out fished.
  9. But they are having trouble getting a game. I saw this on sports center when they first announced this offer. I figured that in no time a team like Texas Tech, Miami, any Big Ten school, or another major school outside of the SEC would take the offer. But nobody has. The offer is real, someone needs to take it. And also, they have everything to offer. If a team beats them, they are one up on everyone else with the same record. Not to mention the coverage this game would get. It would no certainly be on national TV. Expose is what every college team is looking for, and by playing this team you get it.
  10. If noone will agree toplay them, how do they get a tougher schedule? I get what you are saying, I just don't think you can hold that against them.
  11. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=dw-boise110709&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Now what do you think about BSU?
  12. I've got a simple one for myself, STOP SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I agree, solve number one first and formost. If you can build a stronge relationship with your family, everything else should follow.
  13. I do that in WalMart - always need another Roostertail or whatever... I know what you are talking about. At wal-mart alone, I have bought a pack of tube heads, round jig heads, worm hooks, a rapala huskey jerk, bandit crankbait, bag of bleeding tubes, strike king senkos, cotton cordell lipless crankbait, and who knows what else. All of this since Chrismas day. Never bought more than three items in one visit. Oh yeah, I forgot my new $131 pair of native polarized sunglasses. I wonder what happened to all of my Christmas money?
  14. Senko. My favorite is the tiki stick by Wave Worm.
  15. I killed my first coyote back in November while deer hunting on national forrest. But I think that one may eat the one I killed. It only weighed about 30 lbs.
  16. So who is in charge of this football team? Sound to me that a rich players daddy does. I bet this kid will go nowhere in life. He is just living in his rich daddy's shadow.
  17. High temp here tomorrow is 27. 27 is going to be our high and you are complaining about it being in the low 40s in the morning? I would kill to see it get into the 50s sometime again. Coldest year we have ever had.
  18. Everyday . Trying to talk my mom into getting us a wii and I will buy every fishing game that is made for it. Oh yeah, and I get on this site about 6 times a day. Or watch fishing shows online.
  19. I buy anything that looks like it will match up well with the jig. I then put some ground up coffee in the package with them to get that great fish catching coffee sent in with the trailers. Very effective. Just don't add too much coffee or it will just turn the plastics black.
  20. Rapala skitter walk in bluegill because it catches many fish. I don't really care if its the best looking lure, I just care that it catches fish. Lures are suppose to be made to catch fish, not anglers.
