  1. If they,re just hitting the legs they're small or uncommitted - most of the time they inhale a frog - try to deadstick it as long as you can stand it.
  2. I really like the Case Plastics b Big Momma - it's 11" straight tail that's segmented so you can downsize easily - a very very effective worm anywhere bass live.
  3. trick worm
  4. I catch as many chugging and pausing as walking - last good fish was caught chugging and pausing over 20+ feet of clear water with no visible cover. For myself the only rule to frog fishing is 50# braid.
  5. check out southern trout eaters dvd
  6. Zman finesse worm on mushroom jig head all day any day will produce - as will all other finesse worms and rigs - the zman is just much more durable.
  7. I feel the brush hog family is the original and the rest are variations of it - they all work but the brush hog, baby brush hog, tiny brush hog, super hog are all I've ever needed.
  8. 1/2 of a 5" stick bait on a light jig head
  9. fish 'em all but you can send the abu reflex to me
  10. Used them when I was guiding in everglades - they do the job.
  11. plastic worms, I include senkos in this category - you can take a 4" to 6"plastic worm anywhere in the country any season and catch fish.
  12. bogas are tested with certified weights - extremely accurate - just not in ounces
  13. I like gold foil in clear to slightly stained water rainbow trout in darker stained water or on cloudy day
  14. 5 1/2' med action fenwick glass with 30# - 50# braid has been a great spook rod for me. Casts far enough, very accurate and good at keeping the hooks in the fish.
  15. Pretty much always and brown and orange jig has always been my favorite
  16. Depends on your approach to fishing - I read about Aaron Martin going from 7 to 5# in certain situations. For myself I use line diameter to affect lure action - a jig on 20# is a different lure than one on #10 test. It not only affects depth but the action of a lure.
  17. Don't be afraid to try them - many days they will out perform plastic as a jig trailer - you can trim/slim or do other modifications to them as you become more familiar with them.
  18. it's good to practice with whatever line you have on hand but for braid to mono/fluro it would be wise to use the real thing because braid is so limp it takes a bit of getting use to
  19. The calais will be a great reel to pass down through generations - it will be butter smooth for years - a great reel.
  20. not relevant but my cardinal 4 is still smooth as butter - it's older than many reading this
