  1. WHAT!!??? Kinder? Gentler?? NOOOO!! I really enjoyed that surley member that you used to be!!! Don't change because some silly 'ol owner named Glenn asked you too!! Seriously Mike, Congrats! You'll be a great MOD.
  2. I'm using it too. I like that the tabs are up top. I can't tell if it's faster though. Overall, Firefox still has a few advantages over others IMHO.

Nothing like a little Johnny Cash to help with things!
  4. NOW, I am COOL!!! Thanks Glenn!!
  5. I see Wayne... makes sense. Thanks for the info.
  6. Technically, it was never BELOW the boat. It was six inches off the starboard side. Basically the same as passing very close by a steel seawall. It's a vertical face.
  7. Pretty good deal on a Terrova here...My link
  8. These are actually from Barkley, not Kentucky sorry bout that. I passed within a few inches of barge moorings to see if I could mark some fish stacked up behind them. The dam had 10 gates open which created a pretty strong current and the fish were hanging out in the current breaks behind them. If you look closely you can see the fish. Interesting question though... Why did the LEFT side show an echo as well? I passed by them on the right only. You'll notice that there's a strong echo on the right side and a weaker one on the left. Obviously there's nothing on the left so why is that reflection there?
  9. LOL Mike! I wish I could say you are the winner.
  10. Soda, My sensitivity settings are changed several times every outing depending on the conditions. What they were when pic #2 was taken, I don't know. I agree that the sensitivity looks a little high. As for the pic itself, despite my failures in settings, I think it shows some bait balls amongst the interference. I really like the bottom soundings in the pic. I see a few structure targets worth fishing. Pic #1 is a mystery to me. I really like your creek channel idea. My only guess was that due to my slow speed, I marked several fish swimming through "the fan". Similar to pic #3, but not as distorted. I marked it because I was a little puzzled by what I saw and wanted to study it later. I liked pic #4 because of the few large, suspended fish that are marked in the right SI pane. I marked it more for the waypoint that day so I could turn around and hit them with a crankbait. I boated none of those fish. My main reason for sharing these images is to glean any knowledge that some of you might post that I might not have already thought of. So far it's working so please do not hesitate to post any ideas, no matter how crazy you might think they are.
  11. Trying this attach feature...
  12. A few more to talk about... Guesses welcomed... #1 #2 #3 #4
  13. interesting ideas fellas. I'll try that.
  14. Oh one other thing... I don't know what kind of boat you have but if you want a 36 volt TM, first make sure you have the room for the three batteries.
  15. I do this exact thing! (except I'm a Humminbird guy) It's a LOT more comfortable scanning from the console too! No more sore backs! Also... Get the largest thrust you can afford. You might need it if you plan on using that spotlock in the wind. I have a Terrova 101lb thrust with iPilot on my 18 foot bass boat. It's NOT too much thrust.
  16. X2. I've had great experiences with Minn Kota's customer service. They should be able to help you out.
  17. Best thing invented since the hook. You'll be thrilled with it. If you have the chance, DO IT! I love mine. I can fish in strong wind and current where other TM's cannot hold the boat. Spot lock is the shizznit!
  18. I'm still trying to get better at identifying fish species when I makr them. I've never tried the inverse palette. Does it make a big difference marking fish Wayne?
  19. #1 is a rockpile on the edge of deep water. #2 and #3 are a creek channel #4 is a weedline with a stump in the upper right hand corner. #5 I'm still working on identifying. I'll post more pics of this next time I get to this lake. I think it's got something to do with the roadbed that runs thru the lake. ALL are areas I've identified as structure to fish. QUESTION: Which areas would YOU hit first and why? And when would you think would be a good time to find fish there?
  20. any guesses on these images? #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
  21. I'm trying to figure out how to post pics that you can zoom in on. I'll figure it out... I hope...
  22. This is a snapshot of one of the weedy points I scanned yesterday. You will see the weeds extend from the shoreline about 35 feet off the port side, and ending about 7 feet to the starboard side in about 12 feet of water. Also notice the creek channel I have drawn in. It passes by the tip of this point and has a 2-3 foot drop and averages 5 to 10 feet wide. I marked a lot of fish in the channel and caught a few. I'd like to know how YOU would fish this. AND, WHEN do you think this would be a good spot to hit? Pre-spawn? Post-spawn? Mid summer? All the time? Water clarity 2-3 feet of visibility. Notice the water temp in the pic... Weather was 70 degrees and cloudy. These weeds are last year's crop and are DEAD right now. I see what I think is a large fish in the left side-scan pane about 5 feet from the boat. the track of the boat was from #1 to #2 a better view...
  23. My "oh crap" moment was just last weekend. In a hurry to get in the water for some evening fishing. Put the boat in the water, looked down at my feet and saw water coming up thru the floor drain in my boat! Yep...."oh crap!" Forgot the plug! grabbed the plug from the splashwell and laid down to reach the hole in the transom step to put the plug in. Whew! Got it. That was close! Opened the battery compartment to see how much water I had taken on board. "oh crap" AGAIN!! Plug was in the wrong (livewell intake) hole!! Finally grabbed my spare plug and put the plug in the correct hole. It took the bilge about 20 minutes to pump all the water out of the boat. I had water over top my battery boxes! THAT was fun getting that water out of the battery boxes when I got home! NOTE TO SELF: Don't get in a hurry!
