  1. I am not a color oriented guy..so I use what I got cheapest which was Zoom Super Flukes in White or Pearl White, whatever it is. I drop shot them on Standout Hooks,,very good producer. I use them rigged weightless on a 4 or 5/0 Gamakatsu G-Lock over the tops of weeds Pre-spawn and post, sometimes works even during spawn. Sometimes nose hooked works well also. It's a good bait, always have em onboard.
  2. Sure you will, get yourself a fine lookin philly and curl up with her in a warm spot..I think you will survive.
  3. Senko "Dingers" probably Zoom Trick Zoom Finesse Zoom Fluke Berkley 7" Power Worm Gambler Giggy Stick Berkley Original 4" Tube
  4. 2 totally different baits.
  5. Where the hell did you catch that ?
  6. I only use Terminator T-1's.
  7. Where is that?
  8. I don't use Fluoro,,all braid here,,but when I do fish Stone Walls and roadbeds,,any rocks like that,I do use a leader of P-Line CXX. Very VERY very good stuff.
  9. So the 7:1 would be ideal for Jig rods or topwater rods? I saw the fuego was on sale for a great price but I want to get the best reel for the job Being that you need to set the hook before a Bass spits a jig out of its mouth, yeah that faster 7.1:1 really does make a difference. Don't worry about fast retrieves when throwing topwater. That quick reel also helps get a bass away from whatever there may be to get tangled up in faster.
  10. Are those hooks any good?
  11. Just make sure the replacements dont have longer shanks. I have that problem sometimes, hooks tangle.
  12. Long live the smallmoth bass! :-*
  13. I would stretch that out till May, Okeechobee has some of its strongest big fish spawns late in the season. If its just big bass you want you may want to consider changing the trip to ToHo. While Okeechobee has its monsters its not known for its giant bass, just quantity of 6,7,and 8's. Thats very interesting info..where is ToHo?
  14. Thats normal. Jigs are a year round producer.Jerkbaits like previously mentioned,Rat-l-Traps can produce. Metabolism slows in the cold water,as does their willingness to chase. Slow everything down.
  15. The commotion a grass jig coming through the weeds is enough. The only time id consider throwing a jig with a rattle is in heavily stained water, just to help them find it. And even then,,it's not usually needed.
  16. Hey guys, I am wondering if someone can help me. I want to take my son to Okeechobee to give him a shot at getting a really big bass. My question is,,,, what month of the year would give me the best chance of doing this? Any thoughts comments? All appreciated. Thanks
  17. I use them all the time in heavy weeds with a 1oz jig. I am going for a large profile with the 1oz jig, so the big trailer is great. I can't tell you how many 1lb bass have eaten it.
  18. I have been using Owner hooks just about exclusivelyBut, I do like Gamakatsu in certain styles also. I do not like the standard Gamakatsu EWG,too much flex for my taste, stick with the Superlines. What I do like from Gamakatsu are the G-Lock's. As far as my standard worm hook,I use the Owner J,and for the Tubes where I need that extra room, I go to the Owner Wide Gap Plus. Also check out the Owner Ultra Heads, love them!
  19. Grass Jig Football Jig Zoom Finesse Worm{Rigged On An Owner Ultra Head) Zoom Small Tube {Rigged On An Owner Ultra Head) Berkley Original 4" Power Tube (Green Pumpkin) But 5 isn't enough, there are others I would always want with me. :
