CI4 v. Sol
Daiwa has always been at the top of the heap when it comes to spinning reels. Line management has always been superior to Shimano. Don't take this the wrong way, Shimano makes very good stuff, but Daiwa is ahead on spinning reel technology. Also, the Ci4 is not an aluminum frame reel. So most likely,it will not feel as smooth as a Sol,which is an aluminum frame reel. It's like a brass geared reel VS an aluminum geared one,the brass will always be smoother. Everyone has a favorite brand and they are certainly entitled to their opinion. However, the Shimano guys don't think Diawa is "on top of the heap". : Shimano guys are of course entitled to love their Shimanos. I like Shimanos,,but Daiwa is still ahead of Shimano when it comes to Spinning Reels.

I need A New Spinning Rod=Which Of These 3 ?
I wouldn't touch anything with the BPS name on it,reels included.BPS stuff is all made in China. The Mojo's are decent rods,MADE IN USA, a bit ill balanced but thats to be expected at the price point. It has the Fuji Reel Seat, but not Fuji guides,Batson I believe. The BuCoo has EVA grips which I don't personally like, but thats subjective, and is also MADE IN USA.Probably an Aluminum Oxide Fuji Guide. St. Croix of course is a good company,so is Falcon,,kind of a toss up,one is probably no better than the other.

Braid, does color matter ??????????????
Well, I have used braid since the mid 90's Power Pro in Yellow was the first one I used. The fish had no problem with it. I continued with Yellow for visibilty issues like you mentioned, line is no good unless you can see it move. Now I use Spiderwire Invisbraid which is White,,makes no difference, fish don't care. Color the line with the Sharpie if you are worried,,but it's all nonsense, fish are not that smart. Theres only one situation in which I use a leader, and thats when I fish road beds or stone walls. Even then, I don't use that Fluoro crap,I use Co Poly, works fine. Oh,by the way,my buddy switched to Sufix Neon Fire this season, guess what, the fish don't care.

Need a good spinning reel
As far as spinning reels,Daiwa leads the pack. Line management alone is enough reason to go with a Daiwa.

What line for topwater lures
- Gary Loomis is back in the rod building business....sort of....
You are aware that Gary has Northfolk Composites now, yes?- ok how about braid on a spinning reel?
What size reel is it?- Buying a first all-purpose baitcaster rod/reel.....opinions?
I don't know anyone who uses 2 piece rods. Now as far as a reel? The trouble with buying something like a Citica,is that it will not be able to throw light baits. If you are going to only be throwing baits that are fairly heavy, then fine. Just don't expect to be able to throw a weightless fluke,or finesse jig that weighs 3/16oz. If you intend to throw light stuff, you need a reel with a much lighter spool, which unfortunately will lighten your wallet.- Hiring a guide (what to look for, what to avoid)
I was going to book a trip with Roland Martin Marina, and I want to tell you what happened. I asked if I could speak to one of the guides,,they gave me Capt Mike Baylon to speak to. After talking for a bit, I asked about what type of equipment he supplies. I asked this because I wanted to know if it was going to be low end rod and reels. If that was the case, I would bring my own stuff. He then abruptly cuts me off and says, "I dont think I'm the guide for you", and tells me I should call the guide I mentioned that I hired last year. He then "HANGS UP ON ME !!" I was really in total shock. I called the Marina back and told them how I was treated. The manager called me back the next day, and in the end offered me a reduced rate. I thought about it,but that whole thing left a real bad taste in my mouth,so needless to say, I did not book the trip. Just thought I'd share my experience.- Id these trailers
Link comes up not found 404...also,,the trailers do not say zoom on them.- Fishing before a Front
Yes,just about every time the prefrontal conditions will produce well.- Cheap Tungsten Weights ?????
you don't mind that they are unpainted?- Id these trailers
trouble is,,they dont say anything on them- Id these trailers
Anyone know what these are?- Suspended bass
Dropshotting is a possibility.- Looking to buy a spinning reel
The Exceler is actually quite a good reel for the price. After being inside one after dropping it in the water, I was surprised to see some good stuff inside. I dont know what all the differences are between that and the TD-PRO besides the AIR BAIL. I can tell you that DAIWA is top notch when it comes to spinning reels. They certainly have better line management than any other manufacturer.- Red Power Pro ????
Red less visible underwater? hmm,,,don't manufacturers like Gamakatsu make red hooks to supposedly attract fish? Seems kind of contradictory. - Gary Loomis is back in the rod building business....sort of....
