i am looking for a good topwater rod and am wondering what type of rod i need, the two rods i am looking at is either a vendetta or a shimano compre. in those two rods what action and such would be ideal for all topwater baits.

i was once running to another spot and was going 45mph and a jetski runs straight past me and then cuts across the front of my boat trying to splash the boat and i missed him by about 2 yards. can you imagine what a 17' bass boat going 45 mph would do to a jet skier.

try this when you get hung up take some slack line near your reel and hold it in your hand, as if your going to flip to something. now put tension on your rod by loading it with the snagged lure, should look like you have a fish on to other people. now release that slacked line and sometimes this will pop the lure backwards and release it from the stuff it was stuck on.

im not sure about st croix but a g loomis medium is more like a medium light in other companies rods. so loomis' rods are not the same as others in that respect, hope that helped with your question a little bit.

i have the 7'2" cumara and love it, i believe it is medium fast and i use it for texas rigged soft plastics, great rod and i would def recommend it.

thanks for the advise, i found i rod holder i like and to make sure i dont lose my gear i will take a dog leash and connect it to the pier and the other end to my rod.

i am fishing for king mackerel off a pier and am looking for a good rod holder that i can clamp on the pier to hold my fighting rod.

my setup for big cats is a diawa beef stick rod, with a penn gto 230 reel. the reel has 50 lb mono on it and for bait i use squid or cut bait.

id love to just see the boat hit 50+ atm its hitting 42mph in perfect conditions. i just want 8 more mph. its a mental thing.

there is a guy who lives here and races boats and he told me which he though was the best, i got the style in aluminum, i meant to say the current prop on the motor he told me was worth around $500 and just needed to be fixed up so we are going to give him a little bit to fix the dents and such in it from the previous owner. thanks for the help.

yes i took the coarse, and i already have a map of chesdin. ive tried to mark spots i thought would be good but none of them turned up anything.

i may try gaston, just seemed like a small hike from chesterfield so thats mainly why i like chesdin at the moment.

thanks for the help guys, i ordered a stainless steel prop for it, and also saw somewhere else to put a certain kind of sparkplugs in it, cant remeber their name but ima try those since they are not super expensive.

are there any ways that i could up the power of my 115hp outboard. its older and runs great but just doesnt push the boat to fast.

i threw everything, no joke. i fished most of the lake except near the swamp lands due to the fact i do not have a console depth finder to know where it gets shallow. i got stuck there last week so i wont go near it any more. and i noticed the skys but im not sure what a front is.

I went out on chesdin this weekend on the boat and could not find a single bass, are there any ok spots out there? im going to pick up a paper topo map tommarow, but if someone could just help me figure this lake out it would be nice.

that may work but my question to you is why not just buy a cheap aeration unit for say an aquarium and use it for the live well and only have one pump pump in and out which will probably save you money also.

i currently have 115hp on my 17' bass boat, but that is the max that the boat is rated for so i would never add any more then 115.

i went to the local shop and the guy said he would replace the tip with a fuji tip for only $3.00 so i think im just going to do that, he couldnt do it today because he didnt have an eyelet small enough to do the rod.

well i was inspecting my loomis cranking rod after i accidently dropped it and noticed that the very end eyelet was cracked, how exactly do i go about repairing that or do i need to send it to get professionaly done? never have had to repair anything on my rods so i have no clue.

i actually enjoy them having top government figures and celebrities doing it. They really outdid themselves on this production. i love it thus far. another good one im watching at them moment is into the universe with stephen hawking, on discovery channel

how long do you have to hold the brush guard in place for it to hold with 5 min apoxy?

I am wondering what the best glue to use to attach weedgaurds to jigs, i tried superglue and it was horrible.
