  1. Welcome aboard!
  2. Tim Curry's Pennywise was indeed terrifying. Especially in today's "clown sighting epidemic". The new version just doesn't scare me like Curry's, instead, IT reminds me of a more sinister Syndrome from The Incredibles.
  3. Welcome aboard, Colin!
  4. Welp...there's a reason we moved from Western NY to VA. And not just for family...hated the winters there. Driving home on sheets of ice in the winter from downtown Rochester with the sun square in my eyes on the horizon because my visors couldn't go that low to block it...ugh. Don't miss it at all except for friends! Though I can say that I don't like extreme heat, either. It would be better w/o the humidity, of course. Give me 76º year-round and I'd be a happy camper.
  5. Well I just stumbled upon FeelFree's new system that will fit any 2015 Lure. Is a prototype, but the potential is pretty awesome: @J Francho, you'll like this.
  6. Honestly? Well, for me, I rarely get a backlash. If I'm trying to skip a low bridge, I might get one but my thumb is pretty darn quick. So as far as 1 in n, I really don't know, never counted.
  7. IMO, it ain't the best if I can't tie it out on my kayak. Those who say otherwise, at least on some occasions, say they tie them at home the night before and use something else on the water. To that I say WHY? If what is tied on the water is good enough, then use it all the time!
  8. Well stated. I, too, simply gave up on the FG for same reason. I just can't tie it well. I stick with those I'm good at. Alberto/Albrights, the Uni-to-Uni, single Uni, clinch, Palomar.
  9. Welcome aboard, Jimmy!
  10. He'll fill it out one day
  11. Good stuff, mate!
  12. You've got lots of great answers, so I'll just say welcome aboard!
  13. Welcome aboard, Donald! Thanks for your service!
  14. Sounds like I need to get out with you guys... Can you move to Virginia? LOL
  15. Well, for kayak fishing, weight is a premium. My 35AH works for many hours of a trip of starting, stopping, etc. I guess the question I had was is the BPS battery a legit 54AH?
  16. Nice catches! Glad someone is enjoying the fun!! Can't wait to break the drought of no bass fishing for me. But alas, so much soccer travel, mountain bike travel, every. single. weekend. makes it tough.
  17. Welcome aboard! As for spinning, techniques you mentioned will work great, as will Mojo rigging, drop shot, and so on. I use spinning for most techniques now, which for me, is mostly soft plastics like wacky, TX, mojo, drop, and some hard lure uses. I don't do as much casting anymore, so will let others bring their experience to your comment.
  18. No, but looking at the site, it looks like it might actually be 54AH...? @J Francho, @A-Jay are we looking at the AH right on this battery? Bass Pro Shops XPS Power Series 12-Volt Marine AGM Deep-Cycle Battery Sku/ Model Size CCA @0 F Reserve Capacity Rating Amp @10 HR Capacity Width Height Length 844431/ 8AU1H U1 200 45 54 5-1/8" 7-1/4" 8-5/16" 844432/ 8A24M 24M 525 135 145 6-3/4" 9-7/8" 10-7/8" 844434/ 8A27M 27M 580 175 185 6-3/4" 9-7/8" 12-3/4" Would make a little more sense given the price. The one I've heard the best about is actually Cabela's Advanced Anglers AGM batteries, though they're a few $$ more.
  19. I go braid + leader for spinning and casting. IMO, braid so much easier to manage, and with a well-tied leader knot, you'll be good to go. Hot topic, though. There are braid purists, fluoro/mono/copoly purists, and mixed purist like me so you'll be told all manner of methods.
  20. I looked at the BPS models, but comparatively, Werker, Duracell, others can be found for much cheaper... Just checked BatteriesPlus.com and they're selling this as a replacement: https://www.batteriesplus.com/replacement/battery/werker/wkdc12=35j/sladc12=35j
  21. Werker WKDC12-35J Is only a 35AH battery, so if you are needing more, this isn't for you. But I never run out of juice as I don't run it for hours on end traveling to a particular spot.
  22. I think the Spirex are great reels. I've got two, a front drag 2500 and a rear drag 1000, both have handled bass up to 5 pounds as well as saltwater use. I use Stradics for the past many years, and my kids use the Spirex reels mostly now, but every so often I will use one myself.
  23. He was always a Class Act, and I love his iced tea!
