Have fun! I tried it a number of years back. Meh. Was super messy if the wind kicked up while I was busy getting a stick worm out of the bag and the yak rocked w/o me paying attention...not that it happened often. I just decided to stop using coffee grounds. But then again, we used to keep nightcrawlers in used coffee grounds and life was good for catchin' feesh.

Dang. I *think* it was an '83 model year ... a sun bleached yellow Datsun pickup. Bought for $300 off a painter. No A/C -- in Texas (!) .... Spray painted it flat black, LOL. Sold it a year later for $500 and my Dad let me take over the VW Rabbit.

Welcome aboard! Do try wacky, indeed. Don't limit yourself to one worm size, try 4", and 5", even worms like the Zoom trick worm in 4.75 and such. Be patient, let the worm do it's work shimmying down the water column. Also consider trying out the Ned rig .

Welcome aboard! Start with spinning, you can do most everything and catch most anything on spinning gear. Grab a baitcaster when you want, if you want. I use both, but spinning for most everything.
