Only oogled over it in-store. It looks like a very solid kayak aiming to compete against the big-brand models like the Wilderness Systems Ride, Native Slayer, etc. Other than the weight of the 128T, it looks to be an excellent yak. Not had one on the water, but the couple reviews online seem to love it. That you can stand in it -- at that price range -- is a great deal.

Agreed, Fish. Weekends are when the flotillas hit the water. Vastly prefer hitting the water during the week if I can.

As a kayak fisherman, this has happened to me a number of times... Unfortunately the one that frosted my flakes was a looong encounter with the dorks casting just off my kayak - and yeah, I was there first, etc... At least I caught a 3lb largie right where they were fishing. Justice!! My wife is a psych nurse and tells me to just shut up, hold my tongue, and move on regardless of how right I am, regardless of my sense of justice. She wants me to come home alive, uninjured. The number of people out there on antidepressants, and other prescribed mood-altering drugs, is very high, higher than we might expect. And it should be noted, the problems are usually with those who do NOT take their prescribed meds (according to what my wife tells me of hospital stats). I'm not slighting people on anti-depressants what-so-ever. So you never know what kind of person is in the other boat. He might have had a fight with his wife earlier and is steamrolling along the bank in anger... whatever. Best to avoid *just in case*... But man is it tough to do.

Could certainly be done, depending on the kayak. Easier would be doing this on a hybrid kayak with gunnels like a canoe allowing you to either make a front mount, or buy one. In my extensive googling (up and until I built mine), I did not see bow mounted trolling motors on kayaks. Anything can be done with a little elbow grease and ingenuity! Interested to see what you come up with.

Up your price by $99 (not including PFD, paddle), and look at Bass Pro's newest kayak, the FS128T. It's one you can stand in. Had a look at one in-store this past weekend. Decent looking yak, ready to fish, loads of storage. Probably agree with hooligan. I use a Medium and Medium Light rod as my primary setups these days. FWIW.

Huge PP fan here. But my DSG doesn't stock it in yellow, so I usually go to BPS for that, when needed. Tried many other brands, but always return to PP. Even tried the 12 lb Tuf-line. Fine company, just don't like the line much when compared to PP and how the lines lay on size 1000, 2000 spinning spools. Just my experience.

Personally, I haven't found the claim that bugspray repels bass to be true. I use it when I need it. If you have one of those stainless bars of "soap" you can wash your hands off... or if you use spray, you shouldn't need to wash. You could buy a bug hat, too....

I own two Stradic 1000 FI models I use for bass fishing. They are excellent reels, but honestly, if I were to buy another spinning reel today, it would be a Daiwa Lexa 2000. I picked one up via eBay several months ago and I have been extremely impressed with the smoothness, the bail quality and positive movement of the bail, among many other things. The Lexa is a VERY solid reel for the money. I also like the line management a bit better than the Stradics. Cannot compare to the new Stradic FJ models, but I see no reason to at this point. Still a Shimano fan, but have become a big Daiwa fan since the Lexa series (also have a Lexa baitcaster). You can score a Lexa spinning reel for around $100-120 on eBay (from a good, reputable seller).

I've used as low as 8 lb P-Line Floroclear with zero issues on a Quantum Accurist. Actually used 10 lb Berkeley Fireline on one of my Accurists a year ago, caught my PB on that reel. Worked well. Currently using regular yellow Power Pro in 20 lb test on my Daiwa Lexa. Works well, rarely digs in, which is what some warn about with lower diameter braid, but it is so rare.
