I'd go with the BassRaider since it's cheaper. Check out your local sports authority, I know lately they have been putting a lot of stuff up for sale cheap. I checked out the pond prowler and it's looks just as good. Seems to have a few more features than the bass raider, like the livewell in the middle.

most aftermarket hooks are better than the stock crankbaits treble hooks. I think this upcoming spring I'm going to change out all the old hooks on my crankbaits.

I know the Gitzit company makes a goby bait, give it a try.

Never heard of the lure before, gonna have to give a try out on Lake St. Clair.

You can get pretty decent action our of those swimbaits.

Ice fishing is just not my thing, but I don't mind going. I mean what option do I have, sit at home twittle my thumbs or go ice fish.

I remember putting one of these in my fish tank, thing lived forever. I was so young when I did it, I think I was in like grade school. I eventually flushed it down the toilet because it lived longer than any fish in my tank. I was young and stupid, if it was me today I would of kept it. Wonder how long these things live. I remember it use to dive into the rocks and hide in there.

I know what you mean, I've been itching to go out fishing but I can't. It's freezing out and the ice isn't frozen over enough. I think I'm just going to wait for spring time, not sure if I can wait that long though.

Every time I go out I try a spinnerbait, they are dynamite. I'm a big fan of the willow leaf blades!

I would say a fishfinder, I think a good fishfinder if you can find one is very valuable.

That sure is a nice setup, you have just about everything you need on that baby. Just make sure you keep it away from cement. Every time you scrape it the plastic will wear down. If you're like me and fish every week, that can eventually lead to a hole. I always launch my boat on grass.

Make sure you get the bass raider 10, 8 is too small for two people. Remember you need room for your net, tackle box, and battery. You just need a regular battery charger, for the boat just get a transom mount trolling motor and a good battery. Don't go cheap on the battery because you want it to last all day. I got a Minn Kota Endura 30 pound thrust and it gets me around the lake pretty good. If you want to go with a 40 or 55 you're obviously going to suck a little more power. You might want to check out the Minn Kota Traxxis, it has a new feature called Digital Maximizer. Digital Maximizer controls and optimizes power to extend battery life and reduce damaging heat.

Sorry for the late response, yeah I put it up there myself. It's easy for me since I'm an amateur body builder, been lifting weights since I was 15. But, my Dad complains he couldn't do it. What I do is put some foam up on the roof, lean the boat on the Durango and then grab it from the bottom, I then let the boat slide on the foam on top of the roof. I find foam a lot better than any rack system since you would probably need two people to mount a boat on the rack system.

When I was younger in the spring time I landed around 100 bass in the boat wells on Lake St. Clair. Now you can't fish anywhere off land, all of them prohibit it.

Definitely can't imagine it being good.
