  1. That’s a good looking jig, what are the materials?
  2. CRB color series black, 6’ L fast action. spiral wrapped micro guides, split grip w/ exposed blank section on reel seat. Paired with a T3 1016h with bfs spool- 8lb Jbraid usually pair with 4lb mono leader. Great stick for trout, can cast. 1/16 spinner really comfortably and absolutely bombs an 1/8 spinner with great control.
  3. Always fun! I'm in!
  4. Have you looked at the Plano edge 3700? Similar but different than the bass mafia box.
  5. Welcome to BR! Lots of good info here and folks to ask for advice. Good luck out there.
  6. Here's a picture of a couple of my favorite jerkbaits. The Xcalibur XS4 was a design that was based upon the smithwick rogue, with some quality of life upgrades, such as a weight transfer system, higher end finish, consistent suspending, and better hooks. Also pictured is the Xcalibur Eeratic shad. The Eeratic shad (XEE4) was the reintroduced version of the original XS4, which was previously discontinued. The Eeratic shad, rebranded by Pradco as an Edwin Evers design, had a few small changes, you can see in the photo that the lip is a slightly different shape, the XEE4 also had a harder nose down suspending position, where the original XS4 suspended more horizontally. Both the XS4 and XEE4, along with I think all of Xcalibur baits are discontinued, as recently some of the Xcalibur line was rebranded by Pradco under the Boooyah brand. Sometime after they were discontinued, I bought a lot of 6 XS4 in the clown pattern. Interestingly, all of the XS4 baits in the lot are misprinted- the logo on the bottom reads XJ4, not XS4. The XJ4 was a topwater lure similar to a Lucky Craft Sammy, called the Jimmy (Jimmy Houston design). Sorry for the not so high quality photo
  7. FFO has Abu Garcia vendettas (6'9" MH) for $38
  8. Nice review! I think that exact kayak is somewhere in my future...
  9. Eagle claw Lazer sharps are where it's at! Can get 15 packs for like $4 at Wally world. I tend to stick with the heavy duty ewg for most applications. They do have Fletcher shryock trebles which are just like triple grips, same thing too, like 10-15 for $4. Awesome value.
  10. D bomb SK rodent Pitboss Rage or Chigger craw
  11. The original kvd square bill is silent. Later Strike King released a rattling version ( may have been a now exclusive but not sure). And within the last couple of years they released it in the Hard-Knock. So there are technically 3 sound variations to choose from. I believe the hard knock is not replacing the rattle version.
  12. Daiwa LT is where it is at. I have a revros LT and I recommended these to a couple of buddies who both ended up settling on the regal and they talk them up to me every time we fish together. All are fantastic reels. Fwiw I used to run Abu Garcia Cardinals, but most of them have worn down over the years. Also had a last king Mela II that was fine for a while but broke down on my last outing really wish that one would have lasted longer.
  13. I'd second this. Rod builders sometimes aren't hard to find. I had a similar repair done before. Often times a local tackle store will offer this service, and even if not they might be able to refer you to someone who can.
  14. Pull the spring down, insert your line into the notch, and let the spring return to it's original position which will lock the bobber onto the line. If you want to adjust the depth you are fishing, you can simply loosen the spring on the bobber and slide it up or down to your liking.
  15. Bulk pack for me as well, I think I got like 600 for 6 or 7 bucks on Amazon. They work as intended. Only way I'd buy them again.
  16. As others have said, this is a Bandit Square I'll ( that's the full name). Pretty good crankbait. It runs pretty shallow, and has a LOT of wobble and roll. Real aggressive action.
  17. WI has opened the bass season to C&R all year round. This happened only a year ago. If you wanted to harvest, i think those dates remain unchanged. https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Fishing/seasons/bass.html
  18. Reorganized my Planos last week. Edge and prolatch, all 3600's. I have one (maybe two) more edge boxes on my shopping list. I need to get my hands on a flex box
  19. I think I use 22 or 24 guage for wire tying jigs, it's copper wire
  20. Dang! Not only huge, but a really pretty fish as well. I think I need to get out on some better water! Assuming these are Lake Ontario fish?
  21. That combo is Gorgeous! That fish is a tank!
  22. Yes, look for BFS reels. The issue you will encounter is availability and line capacity, although if you will be throwing ultra light lures with the appropriate line size, you should be able to fit plenty of line. I use mine for trout often. It is a Daiwa T3 1016 with an aftermarket BFS spool that allows the reel to cast lures down to a YoZuri Snap bean. More commonly I throw 1/8 and 1/16 oz Inline Spinners.
  23. Yes i'd say they run a little long. Might be worth a shot. Yes i'd say they run a little long. Might be worth a shot.
