  1. I think I've heard it is a #2 if you are going for exact replacement, but you should be able to make any duo-lock style snap work for a chatter bait. Just make sure to get a quality one, not a cheap one - don't let yourself lose a $16 lure because you didn't want to spend 4 bucks on a pack of good snaps.
  2. Yes that's it! Cheb heads. I have seen the head come in multiple pieces where the line tie is also the hook connection, and you that piece fits in between the lead, making them somewhat interchangeable. They are also round as opposed to football shaped which is the norm for bass fishing.
  3. That rig is pretty popular in Europe for European perch and Zander if I recall correctly. I don't remember the name of the rig but if you look up perch and Zander fishing you might find it.
  4. Agreed, it looks a lot like a ratln rap. Never seen that color before, might be an exclusive somewhere. But I also don't recall ratln raps having gill cut outs before which makes me think it might be some other brand using the same body as a ratln rap.
  5. That's really cool. Better than rapala too. Must be good.
  6. I've used rubber collars from I believe fishing skirts.com , I bought black. They worked fine and I wouldn't say they are horrible. I've switched to wire tying skirts though, much more durable. There isn't a rubber collars that I am aware of that won't break off after a year or two.
  7. Caught some tank brookies while bass fishing with a 5" fluke. After I caught a couple I switched to the bfs rig and caught some more on some smaller lures, they were absolute savages that day!
  8. I've bought cheap inline spinners from eBay before (gonna be the same ones you see in Amazon). They aren't worth it - you'll get 1 in 5 that actually works, and it won't work as well as a brand name. Inline spinners don't have to be super expensive though. My favorite brands are Rooster Tail and the Johnson Minn-o-spin (really, really good spinner). And both of those are cheap, sometimes less than $3 each. I picked up a handful of Minn-o-spin's for less than $2 a piece once.
  9. Top one is a Bandit 100, maybe someone else can help in the bottom one because I am not familiar.
  10. Thanks friend, I actually found one that fit already, this pic was taken a little while ago, I'm all set but thanks though!
  11. I bought a custom carbon fiber for my citica off of Ali Express, numerous ones like this exist on amazon and eBay as well. This one cost about$14.
  12. Wow that jig looks amazing, the depth in the colors is very eye catching
  13. Love the crawbug, that color you have there looks amazing too
  14. I had a black and chartreuse jig once, was once my favorite jig. Haven't thrown one in I don't know how long, but I have always liked the combo. I'll have to build a couple next time I make some jigs. Thanks for the reminder haha!
  15. The clip position changes the degree of the action and running depth (if you are casting and retrieving). Front: more subtle action, will definitely run deeper if casting, harder to get to vibrate. Middle: standard, runs evenly, still easy to get to vibrate. Back: lure runs more "nose down" and will run shallow because of it. -hardest most aggressive thump, easiest to start to vibrate. I tend to use the middle almost all of the time, and on occasion will flip it to the back. I haven't really used the front position too much outside of when experimenting.
  16. I LOVE the Johnson thin Fisher blade baits, all the way down to the smallest size which I use for stream trout often! It has a killer tight wiggle and doesn't tangle as often as other blade baits I've used on the rip and fall. Plus these are cheap, often found less than 4 bucks a piece. Downsides is sometimes eyes fall off, and the Hooks are okay, always always sticky sharp, but aren't super durable in the smaller sizes - they can bend out if you have a larger fish on - still 5 stars in my eyes though for the price and consistent quality though.
  17. I haven't bought any of these yet, but they honestly seem like a great concept, and I'm surprised it took someone this long to get these produced. I remember there was a post about these in the tackle making forum a little while back... Here it is, some good reading if you are having any trouble getting them to work.
  18. Why the steel leader on a dropshot? Pike concerns? I wouldn't think a steel leader on a dropshot would be very effective as the steel leader would constantly be pulling the lure down to the bottom from above (assuming the leader is above and not below the hook). Also, I'd venture to say most anglers consider drop shotting a finesse technique and wouldn't want the steel leader as it would deter too many bites. If you are going to use a steel leader, I wouldn't be using a dropshot, I'd throw a jig, Shakey head, or other lure that has more of a direct connection and less for the leader to mess with. If you are trying to keep the lure off of the bottom by using a dropshot, I reckon that attribute of the rig is nullified by the steel leader, and you'd be better off throwing a different lure that would have more more depth control while using a lsteel eader like a spinnerbait or crankbait that will run just above bottom.
  19. Oooooh what is it? It has a super thin lip, looks to be a winner to me.
  20. Yeah, just chalk it up to one of those days. It happens to us all, I've had a very similar day in the not too distant past.
  21. I'd second this, I have held a lot of stuff croixs in the stores and in my opinion they feel pretty tip heavy.
  22. Mines similar to yours, I'd say for me it would be Crankbait- Kvd 1.5 square bill Jerkbait- vision 110 ( or similar) Top water- booyah pad crasher Soft plastics- craw or creature - used to be out boss, but since they aren't havoc anymore I'm thinking of switching to D-bombs. Also Senkos are a must have on hand.
  23. Hell yeah! Could do it all day every day until my arms fall off.
