  1. Thanks guys. I like the Vengeance for the most part, it's a M action spinning rod, so there is a lot of flex in the tip, which sometimes makes it hard to get a good hookset on spinnerbaits and such. I plan to use it for shad raps, lipless crankbaits, and texas rigs this year. All three bass I caught today were caught on 7' MH tec-spec spinning rod.
  2. Put the canoe in Crooked Pond in Loudon for about 3 1/2 hours earlier. Managed to land 3, couple of 3lbers and a beautiful 6lb LM. All came on a 1/4 oz swim jig w/ a baby rage craw trailer. Also had a couple nice hits o]n a shakey head, but wasn't able to get either one in the boat. One of the 3lbers 6lber
  3. Almost all of my bass I've caught in the last week have come on a chatterbait. Different colors and sizes, but usually on a steady retrieve.
  4. Put the canoe in at Hoyt Rd. Marsh on Friday evening. Managed a couple of 2 lbers and a pickerel. 1st bass was caught on a shakey head and the 2nd on a black/blue chatterbait.
  5. Got out tonight for only the 2nd time this year. HIt up Hoyt Rd Marsh from shore for about 45 minutes. Managed 1 bass, nice 2 lber. I have the next couple of days off, so hopefully I can get out in my canoe and catch a few more.

  8. Baby Brush Hog on a shaky head
  9. Black Sapphire Camo Green Pumpkin Candy
  10. Bought a couple of Monster Rehabs on my way in to work last night. After reading this thread, definitely going to hit Walmart on my way home.
  11. Not to highjack the thread, but I picked up a couple of Shad Raps in fire tiger UV. Anyone have any experience with these?
  12. Brush hogs, baby brush hogs, lizards
  13. Baby brush hogs. I can never pass up in a sale or a new color or both.
  14. Bunch of water, beef jerky and/or granola bars, sometimes an MRE if I have one lying around. I'm usually starving by the time I'm off the water, and tend to get chinese food or something on my way home.
  15. Swim jigs Buzzbaits Hardbaits in general as I fish mostly soft plastics
  16. $130 just this morning. New rod and reel plus 8 bags of Baby Brush Hogs (all lures at DSG buy 3 get 1, couldn't pass it up). That's on top of the 140-150 I've already spent the last couple of weeks on 2 spools of Seaguar Senshi, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and anything that piqued my interest in the Wal-mart clearance bins.
  17. I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse at a nursing home. Recently switched to 11-7 which will (hopefully) free up some more daylight hours for fishing.
  18. Horseshoe Pond off of 393 has a lot of access for shore fishing. It does get a lot of pressure, but I've pulled some decent fish out of there.

I don't usually carry, but I carry concealed when I do. Here in NH, you can OC w/o a permit, loaded or unloaded, except in a vehicle. A concealed carry permit costs $10 here, and takes about 2 weeks to get after applying. Well worth it in my book.
  20. Hey Shane, how do I get to the actual launch ramp? I've fished at Turkey once and went to the walk-in launch off of 89, which was a huge P.I.A. dragging my canoe down that big hill, then back up.
  21. I've had luck w/ a baby brush hog as a trailer. I either use a steady retrieve or pop it every once in a while.
  22. Chatterbaits- Already working well, caught all of my bass on it so far this year Swim Jigs Spinnerbaits Jigs
  23. I went to PetSmart the other day and bought an aquarium thermometer for like $3, tied it to an extra spool of line, and just throw it in the water. Not the fanciest thing, but you can get a surface temp.
  24. Got out to Freese's Pond in Deerfield this evening for about 3 hours with a buddy of mine. I caught my first bass of a season, a 3lb LMB, as well as a 2lber and a 1lber, and my buddy caught his first bass ever, a 4-12 LMB. The pickerel were pretty active too, we landed about 10, and had quite a few hits. All of my fish were caught on a black and blue chatterbait w/ a baby brush hog trailer. My buddy's fish were caught on a blue and white spinnerbait. My fish: My buddy and his fish:
  25. I have a canoe, but live in an apartment, so my canoe stays in the bed of my truck from spring until october or so. That's about it.
