  1. There was a small display in the fishing section. Had some decent stuff, bunch of crush city plastics, some Yamamoto stuff
  2. Hit DSG today, clearance stuff is Buy 5 get 5 free, walked out with 9 packs of plastics, a Chick Magnet crank, and a couple dark sleepers for 44 bucks
  3. I've got a 7' MH Shimano Sellus that is my primary rod. I caught my PB on it about 10 years ago, and I keep using it despite my crookedly applied replacement tip guide
  4. I think it's 1 oz or less can't be lead. This excludes anything with a blade like chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. For a while it was anything under 1 oz OR 1 inch couldn't be lead, now the size doesn't matter. Fortunately Tungsten prices have come down quite a bit, so that's helped, but I was a huge Spot Remover fan, and had to sell them all once the ban took effect.
  5. Im in NH, but I saw some Googan Jigs at Walmart the other day. Pretty certain they're standard lead jigs
  6. Got out on a local pond the other day. A solid 6 inches of ice on it. Got a nice trout, a solid smallie, and a very ambitious perch that went after a my rather large shiner
  7. Got a good 6" of ice on the smaller bodies of water around my way. Got a couple through the ice on Monday, 1 trout, a nice smaller, and a perch that couldn't even fit my bait in it's mouth.
  8. After several years with minimal time to fish, I've finally been able to get out on the water a whole lot more. Mostly in the past, it's been t-rigs, rage rigs, and swim jigs. I came across the Tokyo rig a while back, and it's been working pretty well for me, along with the jika rig. So what new techniques have you guys tried this year, and how have they worked for you?
  9. https://leadfreebassjigs.com/products/weighted-swimbait-hooks-5-pack I use the 4/0 and 5/0 for Rage rigs, but he has 3/0-5/0 in 1/8-1/4 oz
  10. If I tie it on some P-line, do you think it will...produce?
  11. You're right, I knew it was one of the 2. Thanks for the correction. I found a thread from a few years back to confirm your claim.
  12. I was removing old line from all my reels a couple weeks ago, and instead of using scissors to remove a crankbait, I tried to snap the link by ripping it off. Jabbed myself in the finger pretty good. Oh and there was the time I tried to remove weeds from my buzzbait by flicking it, and stabbed myself through the nail. That was unpleasant.
  13. I was walking across my kitchen this morning, glanced down, and had to do a double take. This snap peas string looks almost exactly like a small EWG hook.
  14. A friend of mine just uses his tie-down strap tied around a rock as an anchor
  15. According to a test I remember reading a few years back, Trilene XL is the lowest stretch mono. And fluorocarbon actually stretches more than mono, it just takes more force for it to start stretching, at least according to Berkley
  16. Same, for me it's mostly been fleabay, with a couple purchases from tackle sites.
  17. Bait monkey nipped me again, ended up with a couple Lunkerhunt Prop Frogs and some spirex handles for my spinning rods.
  18. Me too, man. I didn't really fish much last year, I focused mostly on ultra training. But I got the itch a couple weeks ago, and I've been getting antsy. I've gone through all my tackle, stripped old line from all my reels, bought a bunch of gear, sold some. It has helped a little, but not much. It's supposed to be in the 50s this coming week, so I'm gonna try to hit the river and make a couple casts to ease the restlessness.
  19. I'd stash it in the bushes before putting it in the back lol
  20. Daiwa CA80, Daiwa Fuego CT, 13 Origin TX, 13 Origin A, some 3/0 EWGs, 2 Jackall Pompadour Jr's, 8 packs of Keitechs, 4 packs of 3/16 tungsten, an Ark Catalyzer 7'3" MH Casting rod, and an Ark Lancer 7'9" XH Casting rod. To make room for all of this, as well as recoup some of the cost, I've cleared out a a couple 3600s worth of hardbaits, as well as 4 spinning combos. Therefore, I've justified my purchases to myself.
  21. I was in the market for a couple of rods, and picked up some Arks
  22. I've got some 4.5" Yamamoto lizards. Haven't used them a ton
  23. I've got a couple jerkbaits, and some flat sided squarebills. I'll bring them along and see what happens
