Bladed Jigs part 2 and fishingskirts, com.
no, the ones i'm using are down towards the bottom of the page. they come already assembled with the blade. i do apologize, the hooks are way too small for what you are looking for. i'm really more of a spinnerbait guy than bladed jig, but i've been trying to make myself use them more. i'm just using a split tail trailer on them, some the 3/0 & 4/0 have been fine for me.

Bladed Jigs part 2 and fishingskirts, com.
i'm in no way a bladed jig expert, but i've just been using the ones from omfishingsinkers. the only way i've figured how to get a skirt on them is to wire tie it though.

Possible Fluorocarbon suggestions
i've been using sunline assassin for a few years now in 12, 15, & 17, and have been very pleased with it. it's a good handling line that is also on the more budget-friendly side.

Time to unlock its secret
i've had a few of those over the years, and none have really been worth a flip!

What am I looking for in a casting rod that will be used for soft plastics lures (under an ounce) for river smallmouth? Power/action, length, line rating? Price range is anywhere from about 100-220.
the mmh daiwa rods work well for the 3/16-1/4oz range for me. i picked up the tatula elite version i have used for $175.

Spinnerbait blade configurations
i'm not sure how most baits are priced where they are anymore. it seems like rods & reels have made lateral moves. the middle of the road stuff is as good as the high end stuff was 20-25 years ago, and still at basically the same price point. allen u know anyone that would pour me up some 1/2oz heads with a compact frame?? ? the bassman head looks very similar to a prespawn spinnerbait i have that i'm waiting to try in early march.

Spinnerbait blade configurations
i generally use dbl willows. i tend to like smaller blades, and smaller baits. i really like the 1/2oz hidden weight profile with a #4/#3.5. i will use a gold blade on the shaft, but i always like a nickel/silver blade on the swivel. i may buy a couple of the 1/2oz bassman compacts to see what i think about them. i like the fact that it's not a hidden weight type, since i do like to kill an sb at times. for some reason i have a really hard time spending $13 on a spinnerbait!

Australia
daiwa has a couple of steez rods that are offered there that i wish they would bring here. i've contacted 1 store about them, but they wont sell here

spin vs BFS
i had thought about getting a shallower spool for the ct, but i have no problems with 1/8oz and that's really about as light as i go.

spin vs BFS
i've been using a steez ct & 6'4 l power daiwa blazon for the past few months. i've been having a blast catching crappie, bass, shellcrackers, bream, & yellow bass on 1/8oz crappie jigs. my father was a die hard crappie fisherman, and only used a 9'-10' rod/fly reel, and didn't ever cast. he was strictly a dipper. when i got old enough to start hitting local ponds, i got a daiwa spincast rod & reel, not spinning, so i feel right at home with bfs gear. i will say that fishing a shakeyhead or ned rig feel more natural on a spinning set up though. maybe i have just fished those techniques long enough on spinning tackle that it feels weird any way else.

An experiment Ned Kehde would be proud of....
i ordered a rod from asian portal the thursday night before memorial day weekend, and had it the following wednesday. around the same time, i got some jigs from a board member that took about 2 weeks from right here in the states!!?

Cabelas ZX rods: what blank / manufacturer
daiwa had a line called ballistic years ago that had a 6'9 mh worm/jig rod in it. i have 1 of the rods i use for spinnerbaits since it's way too soft for me for the stated techniques. it is a fairly fast action rod, but it loads deep when a fish is hooked. i prefer crank-type rods for spinnerbaits, so this works out well for me. i've tried to find another 1 of these rods, but haven't had any luck.

Anyone else use a cheaper boat?
i feel very fortunate to own the boat i currently have, a 2013 tracker pt175tf w/75hp. i friend of mine sold it to me at an absolutely stupid price when he got a new ranger rt198p a few years ago. i had gone 4 or 5 years without fishing at the time due to financial reasons. i look at all the newer boats coming out, and love the way they're set up. avid just added the 18xb to their line up, and it really looks like the perfect boat for me. i fun fish, and i always fish alone. i don't need anything more than that. the problem for comes when it's time to write the check. the boat i have is pretty stable, gets me to the fish, and doesn't have a payment attached to it. it functions well for me, so i'm not sure i will upgrade until i have no choice.

Tatula Elite vs Rebellion
i have both rods, but they are 2 different actions. in the rebellion, i have the 6'10mhr, and in the tat elite i have 7' mmh xf. both rods are balanced & light, but i much prefer the reel seat on the tatula elite. i really do like the action of the blank of the rebellion, but the seat is just uncomfortable to me.

BPT Season Over?
i would imagine after this year there will be a lot of new stipulations in tv sports contracts
-
BPT Season Over?
my understanding of the way bpt/mlf works is based on tv contracts. they have to be finished by a certain time of year in order to edit content for a certain air date.

Daiwa Steez AGS 7'5 MHH Bottom Contact Vs NRX 894
i'm a total daiwa rod fan, but i don't really care for the new air sensor reel seat. i've got the rebellion 6'10 mhr rod. i love how the blank fishes, but the seat/lockdown just doesn't work for me.

Major Craft Rods
i finally called around enough folks on majorcraft america's dealer list today to get some contact info. they have responded if i let them know what model i was wanting they invoice me thru paypal. now i'm just hoping they still have what i'm looking for (corzza 6'9 ml/bf) in stock.

Major Craft Rods
i've been trying to purchase 1 of their bfs rods for the past 6 months or so, and am not having any luck. i tried to get the corzza 1st, and recently been trying to get the speed style, but am unable to purchase from majorcraft america site. i've contacted the thru their website and instagram, and their response time is pretty hideous.

Who can teach me about line tie type/location on jigs?
from what i've seen in interviews, that cat likes a stout hook!
-
Who can teach me about line tie type/location on jigs?
i think the naming of the hack fc jig is based more on hook diameter than location of the eye. i may be wrong, but i think it is a little lighter wire.

spinnerbait rod action
i prefer mod action on spinnerbaits. my 1st experience using a crank rod was with the old green handle 7' mh tds rods also. it took a little bit to get used to casting it, but i was amazed at how little fish i lost. i like the way slower action rods seem to just pierce the hook thru. i did have problems back in the day using titanium wire baits with a slow rod. they are springy enough as is.

Cranking Rod Suggestion - Wiggle Warts and 2.5s
i'm using an old steez flexlite 7'2 mh, and it'll throw a wart just fine, but it really shines with heavier baits like 2.5's. they have released a version of this in the tat elites with randy howells name on it.
